Saw this on sports center so I don't have a link.

I truly believe that Kobe Bryant could go a month without food, water, or an iPad if it meant another championship. Kevin Garnett would give up trash talking for an hour if it meant two more rings. ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE! - Rod Benson

Man
This would be awesome if Mitch could pull this rabbit outta his hat.He did wonders with the Pau deal,if he could pull this off he would no doubt be the envy of all NBA GMs.I do think Kobe would buy into it to because of the way we have been handled by the better teams so far this year.If we get Melo man who would the opposing team stop, they can double Kobe but that’ll leave one on one with Melo. Then Pau has gotten better as a big man,and has held his own Lamar is a double double waiting to happen and Artest would be the enforcer, this could be huge.Plus with Kobe getting older in age and closer to calling it a career,Melo can step right in and be the man whenever he does, this could be the deal to seal our championship fate this year.

We lose our REBOUNDING and DEFENSIVE back line.
Which means our best bet for the 3-peat

Yeah I'm not sure how I feel about this.
I think I would go along with it either way but my guts says, “Do not want”

I don’t think there’s any better deal out there that we can make that would out do this one.Who are our trade chips,no one wants Artest, because of his deal and past issues,Odom might draw better trade interest but can we get a Melo for Odom, highly unlikely.Pau and Kobe isn’t going to be traded,so who else can be dealt to upgrade this team to where it needs to be.I don’t think u guys can say we will be able to get it done with what we have, now if they start playing like they did last season then i would agree with those who oppose this deal, but the lack of defense that would be gained from this deal that concerns some is already showing.Plus if we get this deal done who can honestly stop that tandem,no one,you might be able to stop Kobe by throwing 2 or 3 people at him but the others will make u sorry.I say if the Nuggets bite on this deal then I say give them Bynum and lets get the ball rolling. Then see if Miami,Boston and the Spurs do what they did earlier this season to us again I doubt it.Plus who would want to face that line-up in a 7 game series, who could even beat that type of team in a 7 game series, how could you game plan for that team,Kobe Pau,Anthony,Odom that’s an all- star team by itself.

8 + 24 > 23 + 6
The only scenario that I'll accept is one in which we get Nene as well.
And that ain’t happening.

nope
unless they want to take Ron, Luke, and/ or Blake’s contracts (highly unlikely).

That's not even the most interesting part of that article
The Lakers first contacted the Charlotte Bobcats last week, looking to deal Artest for either Stephen Jackson or Gerald Wallace, sources told ESPN The Magazine’s Ric Bucher. The Bobcats were initially intrigued because owner Michael Jordan has long appreciated Artest’s toughness, but talks ended during the weekend after the Bobcats learned Artest was not excited about playing in Charlotte.
