I will not blow car exhaust up your ass by saying we dont have problems but im really not that concerned for these Lakers right now, yeah they lost some games that have you like WTF and throwing beer bottles and that silly cigarette, wait im tripping let me pick that up... am i on time out? ok i'm good!
Even thought this Laker organization travels well, the only place the Lakers are trully loved is Cali, so the ESPNs and the Fox networks of the world would like you to believe that the sky is falling with no excape but the crazy thing is that they said that all last year too; remember we was losing games before we went into the playoffs for 2010 but look who held that trophy up when the dust settled. So i take their advice with a grain of salt.
What i do think is we got old fast we play alot of games every year and for that we dont get good draft picks.
But as far as our current team: Artest has checked out mostly because Phil wont use him in the post like all the teams that had him did but decided to make him a jump shooter full time. Barnes hasnt worked and been injured and Steve Blake has no defense for the speedy guards that he faces; but he does shoot lights out. So that leaves our vets to carry us when last year it was a mixer of the two. Pau is tired and is not a defensive threat in the greater skeem of things.
If im Mitch im trying to do a trade with the Hornets and the Cavs sending Character and Ebanks to Cleveland for
Anthony Parker and Artest and a 1st rounder and maybe some dead presidents to go with it for Trevor Ariza and a benchrider in New Orleans, since the cavs will have very good chance at getting the lottery this year might be attractive.
The Hornets might bite because of the first rounder and the experience that comes with artest and the contract situation looks good if he acts up. What that gives us is the legs we need to compete without sacificing our front line in turn making us younger.
