Rondo on the trade block... I know it wouldn't happen, but if you could... Odom for Rondo? Anything for Rondo?

If Boston didn't win that one championship over the Lakers in '08
I would consider getting Rondo (but not a Odom trade) since we need a decent PG
But after the Lakers/Boston rivalry heated up again over the past few years, all Celtics on those squads is completely off limits as far as I’m concerned.

No to Rondo
unless we’re going to get some other folks who can shoot as well

No thanks to Arenas as well.

Pass
It may just be me but I don’t want a point who can’t hit free throws…
I can't believe that there's nobody interested in this deal.
I mean, it’s no slam dunk, I’ll give you that. Set aside the green hatred for a moment. It’s tough, I know. I hate Garnett/Pierce with all of my soul.
But a true young athletic point guard that can D up? His shooting does suck, so we’d have to get Vujacic and Ammo back, but still… imagine Fisher and Blake being relegated to five minutes a game total…
I don’t know if I’d take the deal, but I’d at least think about it.
What do we have to offer? Thats one of the issues
We aren’t going to give up our front court for Rondo, and other than that, we don’t have good enough pieces to trade for him that we can part with, especially since we are trying to put together a package for Howard as the first priority (I hope).
We try to be the best.

I mean I think about it
only cuz he’s obviously cheaper than any other top shelf PG on the market save Nash, who I’m just pre-empting to be on the market

Unconfirmed reports that Boston is doing what it can to get Paul, and trying to deal Rondo
If thats the case, Rondo will be the key piece that they are giving up in a three team trade that Boston is trying to set up to get Chris Paul. Rondo isn’t headed to FA anytime soon, so Boston won’t take peanuts for him, unlike the Hornets who will just take whatever best package they can by the deadline for Chris Paul. It makes Rondo not that cheap to trade for.
Another thing going for Rondo is that he is paid relatively little for an All-Star which adds to his value for any potential teams.
Market for trades
not the FA market.

I meant the trade market
Boston is trying to get Chris Paul for Rondo. They can only laugh at us if we offer any combination of Metta/Blake/Barnes/Luke/etc. Odom/Bynum/Gasol are most likely tied up right now with negotiations with Dwight and its questionable to give up our front court power for any PG other than Paul.
Not that Boston will necessarily get Paul
But it shows how Boston perceives Rondo’s trade value. And since Rondo’s contract runs until 2015 and Rondo’s jersey was actually the third best seller last year (just after Kobe and Lebron, showing Rondo’s popularity), Boston is going to let him go for some peanuts and a side of fries.
Besides, Rondo would be an affront to all Laker fans.
they're not doing Rondo straight up, but he is a main pt of the deal yes

err...
I wouldn’t trade week-old gum for that cardboard cut-out of Rondo depicted in this Photoshop travesty. I mean, have some sense of pride in your image-hashery, people!
