Yeah, I just read some of the comments, I have banned myself from arguing with others but I'm glad ya'll took care of it

HeatFan#1 was kind of missing the point because when your team wins 60 plus games then your team doesn’t suck but when your team wins 40 something games your team definitely sucks and needed a change. And I sooo wanted Kobe to drop that team SOOO BAD, made me want to put on my kicks and teach Brown how to catch a ball. (OOHH the bad memories so let me stop myself now)

However good to see ya’ll represent

There are basic Fundamentals that are needed to move forward in this game. Always keep your guard up at all times to avoid being caught in a trap. Overcome the fouls that will be committed against you REBOUND AND PRESS ON. ADJUST to the Limelight: ALL-STAR PLAYERS ARE ALWAYS THE CENTER OF ATTENTION. Know what your role is and play your position. Find a game plan and execute it. REMEMBER YOU ONLY GET OUT OF THE GAME WHAT YOU PUT INTO IT.

If there is one thing that Cavs and Lebron fans should know is that the regular season

hardly predicts the outcome of the playoffs. I never thought that last year’s Cavs were going to implode the way that they did. There are some teams that come to mind like the

Sacramento Kings
Phoenix Suns
Dallas

All teams that enjoyed either the number one or two records in the NBA at some point and they all folded and ironically were beaten by teams that actually were championship caliber despite not having the best record in the NBA. I understand that the Heat are contenders but not even a good regular season record will make them champions. Especially when the rest of the competition in their conference is watered-down.

"That means no more coming into camp fat and out of shape, when your team is relying on your leadership on and off the court. Good point

They can have the regular season but when it comes time to gel, execute and not cost your team a big key play in the playoffs, that’s when Miami will be teasted and those problems will arise. It’s all about that ring and gelling at the right time…. F is regular season.

Regarding the article that is posted over at the Heat's site

What is interesting to me is how quickly they are adopting the argument that Lebron is better than Kobe. I wonder if those that are doing the shit talking are former Cavs/Lebron fans that have recently switched sides.

The one also that stood is how the article points out that Heat fans should expect a lot of Heat-bashing. But in reality I think there will be more Lebron bashing.

The Spanish team is the one that has played far below expectations.

Can't believe

they lost again. wow. And guard play is the problem, I don’t know how Rubio is improving his stock with this tournament exposing his shooting liabilities without enough pluses to balance that huge minus.

These things happened. They were glorious and they changed the world... and then we fucked up the end game. - Charlie Wilson

by Marty Mart on Aug 31, 2010 7:31 PM PDT up reply actions

These games are largely serving as confirmation to me that Rubio is overrated

He definitely makes amazing passes that evoke images of Nash quite a bit, but everything else is just lacking. He doesn’t have the hops to finish consistently against NBA bigs, his shooting is below average, and he’s rather turnover prone because he looks for the big play too often. I expected from the start that he’d be largely only effective in a dedicated pick-and-roll system with a good roll big and a bunch of shooters, which is definitely an okay thing, but now I’m doubting even that. What happens when you blitz him before the screen is set (Thibodeau’s pick-and-roll defense method that the rest of the league has copied in spades) and he’s effectively isolated on the perimeter and has to create something against that kind of ball pressure? And that’s just a system tailor-made for his talents; the triangle is an awful fit for him.

To secure ourselves against defeat lies in our own hands, but the opportunity of defeating the enemy is provided by the enemy himself.

by Ben R on Aug 31, 2010 10:45 PM PDT up reply actions

And that is pretty much

what I’m thinking as well. Never truly believed the hype, but I’m sure Kahn is still drinking it all in.

Rubio: I don’t think I belong here.

Kahn: Oh of course you do. Your turnovers, inability to shoot, and inability to finish on big guys are just growing pains. All that doesn’t matter for me. Now, hit me with some of that Spanish Sangria and show me another sweet pass Rubio.

Missing Gasol, thats all it is to it

I didn’t think much of them to be honest without Gasol, I thought they would suck so I’m not surprised

There are basic Fundamentals that are needed to move forward in this game. Always keep your guard up at all times to avoid being caught in a trap. There's still a lot of talent there

Marc is better than any big on the U.S. roster and they’re really deep in the backcourt. They simply can’t put all that talent together consistently, which is surprising given how much their chemistry has been lauded before the tournament.

That said, you’re right: Pau not being there is a massive difference. If anything, he’s better in FIBA play and that’s saying something considering his NBA excellence.

To secure ourselves against defeat lies in our own hands, but the opportunity of defeating the enemy is provided by the enemy himself.

by Ben R on Aug 31, 2010 10:37 PM PDT up reply actions

As far as team USA they are one poor shooting night away from losing a game

I think that since most of their competition consists of teams who have better shooters and the fact that there is no 3 second rule on the defensive end can really effect them in a bad way. Other teams just clog the paint and that forces the US team to become jump shooters. On top of that, they have no post presence on the offensive end. Tyson Chandler is only effective if he is getting lobs and other teams have bigs who can defend Kevin Love without a problem.

"That means no more coming into camp fat and out of shape, when your team is relying on your leadership on and off the court.
