Hi, everyone! How was your weekend? What'd you get up to?... Yeah? That sounds fun. What else?... Oh, wow - that's great. Hey, shut up for a second.
Team USA this morning plays part three of a back-to-back-to-back. After battering Slovenia and Croatia, they tangle with Brazil at 9:30 a.m. California time. The game's on ESPN2.
I was a lot more enthusiastic about the FIBA worlds before I came to realize that Turkey's not in the same time zone as Los Angeles. Not even close, it turns out. Isn't that why we fought World War I? Because the Ottoman Empire refused to join the Pacific time zone? Clearly, whoever forgot to include that provision in the Treaty of Sèvres is history's greatest monster.

I saw The Last Exorcism on Sunday and it was really good
very mixed reviews. It had almost Zero special effects and it really worked.

the nba let’s so many travels go it’s fucking ridiculous, especially on situations where someone catches the ball while running. They’re also pretty lenient in situations where a player switches pivot foots. Those things are gonna get called a lot more often abroad…

I heard USA survived
and by the looks of the score they did, tried to watch replays but my internet sucks. 3-0 is good, one of these days I’ll catch a game. GO USA
There are basic Fundamentals that are needed to move forward in this game. Always keep your guard up at all times to avoid being caught in a trap. Overcome the fouls that will be committed against you REBOUND AND PRESS ON. ADJUST to the Limelight: ALL-STAR PLAYERS ARE ALWAYS THE CENTER OF ATTENTION. Know what your role is and play your position. Find a game plan and execute it. REMEMBER YOU ONLY GET OUT OF THE GAME WHAT YOU PUT INTO IT.
I watched the replay
There was a lot of horrible basketball, horrible officiating, weird rules, and people booing the US.
Oh well, go FIBA.
Durant played well, and Lamar had lots of good rebounds.

I don't think people should be very surprised that the US gets booed
in international competition in a Muslim majority country. Our policy isn’t exactly popular in Turkey. Where politics and play intersect.
That's true...
but I think part of it is also that the US is often considered the team to beat. People usually root for the underdog, so it’s natural that the US team will get booed often. It’s the exact same with the Lakers. It’s popular to root against us.
