It seems that since Kobe had his let down in Colorado, everyone and their Grandmother has tried in some way to derail the “Mamba Express” and crown the “Kid from Akron” as the next thing to save basketball. But, to no avail. For those who feel that any Super team put together with James, Wade, and Bosh will automatically topple Kobe. PUMP YOUR BRAKES! History has shown, it doesn’t always work.
Last year, the Yankees finally put another World title team together. But, many took this title with a grain of salt to say….FINALLY! for decades, the Yankees fielded the highest payroll, consisting of some of the best talent ion their sport. Yet, year after year, the rest of the league brouoght them back crashing down to earth in the playoffs. When it counted most. That’s the good side.
On the opposite side of the equation, the Washington Redskins have dumped money at the best players and coaches, available to them. Only to continuously be beaten into submission by better TEAMS. Not just better athletes. They either didn’t make the playoffs, or were so far out of contention that a win was seen as a huge surprise! This, while having all the best talent at the most needed skill positions.
So, go for it Miami. Go for it Cleveland. Go for it Chicago. Bring it on again Boston. The crown of champion belongs to the “Mamba” and his crew. And all the high priced mercenaries you employ to stop them might not amount to a hill of beans. But, you are more then welcome to try. Just remeber though haters……YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
