Kobe and the rest of the Lakers' new ratings in 2k11 and Elite?

2k11 and Elite (formerly Live) games are expected to come out  if a few months

Though Michael Jordan is gracing the cover and has an emphasis to it (which excites me also, btw) in 2k11, I'm more interested at the updated ratings of our players.

Star-divide

What could be Kobe Bryant's new rating be in the new games? Last year, it was 97 (for 2k10, not sure with Live 2010). But personally, I thought it should have been a bit higher considering all of the jaw-dropping moves and brilliant plays that he did this past season and most especially in the playoffs.

I expect Jordan to be an easy 99, but considering what Kobe has become, I think his rating would now be much closer - more of 98 or even 99.

I also want to know what would be the ratings of the rest of our roster.

Your thoughts?

That would actually be awesome.

In this case LeBron would drop to 60 come playoffs.

Technically that is what they're supposed to have done for the fourth quarter.

But the fact that you’re asking should tell you that didn’t work well. lol

Kobe won't be as athletic next year.

He’s played a lot of games. He has the skills but his athleticism might not be enough to get a 99.

Besides, I know I might get hate on a Lakers site for saying this but I still just don’t feel like Kobe is on the level of MJ. He’s getting closer but I just don’t feel like he’s there.

It’s hard to assign ratings to a lot of players on the Lakers. So many inconsistent players; Fisher, Odom, Artest, Bynum. Especially Kobe, who’s play ranges from Superstar to God mode. I think 2K does a good job with their ratings system, and online updates, though. Although Live has turned into Elite, I highly doubt it will be better than 2K. EA knows their Live games sucked, so I think they’re just adding a couple new features and putting a new name on the game to distance themselves from Live, but 2K will always reign supreme, in my opinion. The one thing Live has better, though, is their online system and features, which 2K says will be revamped this year…

I don't know

looking at how they changed the graphics engine, the physics of the game, and the control scheme. I’m thinking they’re really trying to come out swinging now so that they can take the title of best bball game from 2K. We’ll have to wait and see though.

Yeah, we will have to wait and see.

If they did put forth a huge overhaul, that could be just like starting over from scratch. It’s a gamble.

Just because you throw someone a pass, and they score, it doesn't mean you made them a better player.

In 2k9, KObe is terrible in the 4th quarter, at least when I play with him; he dissappears and can't

knock down a three for me in the clutch. I hope that they do per quarter ratings that way I can win more online games with kobe.

idk

its weird. the whole 2K10 takeover thing never really worked for me or at least I didn’t know what I was supposed to do to use it. I’m pretty sure I was on the receiving end of it a couple times though.

and in 2k10, the only time i can make a three with kobe is a guarded step back three from 29 feet; the 2k and elite designers

do very little to improve their games on a yerly basis to mak a larger profit, imo because every year sales for their games increase whereas the value of it and production money marginally increase.

Why bother take non-open threes with Kobe?

Run around until you get an open midrange shot, cut to the basket, or post up a smaller player.

yeah I was going to say that

but I think he’s referring to end of game situations where times running out testing the clutch factor in the game.

I don't think there was such a thing as takeover

It was kind of just like a catch phrase or a slogan, How will you take over? But it really didn’t alter gameplay. The only thing I can think of is a player’s range indicator blinking orange and red to indicate how “hot” they were, but that was in previous versions as well.

i play 2k9 with my cousin

and he always bitches bc im the lakers, and i dominate him even when he picks the celtics, cavs, or magic. He said he wouldnt play with me “clutch factor” was on, so i turned it off and STILL dominated him.

sorry, that was all a bit off topic, but kobe shoould be like 97-99.

No offense to any one, if this is your strategy

I dislike it when people pick the top teams and just use the shit out of their player. Like when someone used the Cavs, most likely they just drive with LBJ every time. Same with Kobe and Wade. But I beat pretty much everyone I played online with the Memphis Grizzlies, very well-balanced.

I enjoy

playing with OKC and then killing with everyone but Durant until the fourth quarter. lol.

Dear 2K,

I make OKC rain down them 3’s. That team is ridiculous. Way too much fun, and way too easy to win with. Except for Nick Collison, that team makes it hail. That is all.

P.S. Please make Derek Fisher a little bit more dependable. I can’t decide what’s going to cut out on me first…his stamina or his foul-proneness.

Do they have any 3 shooters besides Harden and Durant?

Jeff Green

is supposedly a stretch 4 like Shard Lewis, and Thabo hits them occasionally, but when you play it you don’t exactly rain 3s down on people with every player on the team. Mostly Durant, Harden, and Green, but when Harden or Durant are on they’re on. I always use the Thunder when I play 2K10 and I actually almost never use Durant until the second half and then just continually dunk on people with Westbrook throughout the game. lol. Harden is like a sharpshooter when he’s on in the game though.
