no offense to matt or anyone else, but i can’t remember the last time the lakers had a player that looked like a “thug.” unless you
"the man who created a legend; the legend who resurrected a franchise."
wanna count ron artest as one.
"the man who created a legend; the legend who resurrected a franchise."
Think Rodman!
Kobe, God and I don't tweet. Everyone else does.
Yeah the lakers have always kept a clean image among their players
appearance wise atleast…

If Luke's out for the season....
Can the Lakers somehow get his salary of the cap and/or parlay it into something useful? Another big would be nice.
He's 30 years old with debilitating back woes. Pray for health first.
"There are no "Kobe Lovers", just people who are right." - Gil Meriken
I pray Luke seriously considers retiring...
He’s been to 3 NBA Finals and has two rings, that’s pretty successful already. He shouldn’t force himself to play if his body really can’t. He should retire now and start as a scout or analyst.
he's actually been to 4,,,
,,,,he was in the 04 finals also
"Lebron joins teams with his friends; Kobe’s enemies join teams with him." -Gil Meriken
If he has to retire
I say the Lakers do like what happened when Kurt Thomas was having issues, just suit him up on the bench and train him as a coach/analyst/scout
Unfortunately the legend of MJ has long surpassed the reality of MJ. -Joshua S.
They essentially did that last season.
Kobe Bryant's no Michael Jordan. Kobe Bryant is Kobe Bryant.

Eh, I'd much rather he decide to retire
And let the Lakers use his effectively expiring contract as trade bait. Then he’s free to join the coaching or scouting staff.
To secure ourselves against defeat lies in our own hands, but the opportunity of defeating the enemy is provided by the enemy himself.
Yes.
Larry Coon said that the Lakers would be able to apply for an exemption on Luke’s salary if he is out for the season. I’m also assuming that insurance would pick up most of the tab on his salary as well. So, if Luke’s back is that bad. This might save the Lakers upwards of $10-12 million. I’m guessing. I’m sure ownership wouldn’t mind if Luke is out.
http://twitter.com/wondahbap
I sure wouldn't either
I kinda like Luke , but I don’t think he’s worth that much. We can really do something with $10M. I sure wish him the best of health though
The Celtics tried or are trying to do the same with Sheeds contract
so I think that is a possibility.

Injured player exception of $3mill if he's not coming back for the season.
Contract gets wiped from the books if he retires.

would laker fans be too greedy after all that mitch has done if we expect him to get luke to retire?

That would just be manipulative.
Unless it is in fact necessary for Luke’s overall health to retire.

I can't imagine all those tattoos in a Laker uni...

That brings up a completely useless question....
Will Matt Barnes be the most tattooed Laker ever? I’m really not thinking of anyone else.
Well let me welcome everybody to the wild wild west. A state that's untouchable like Elliot Ness.
how could people forget him?

Kobe, God and I don't tweet. Everyone else does.
It's called blocking out bad memories.
Damn, that is nasty. How much do you have to pay someone to tattoo you below the belt?

I actually don't like the white Sunday uni..
I’d rather they use Gold and have Purple and this Black for away games. Maybe the black for home games too. It looks siick

i'm not big on the white uniforms either...
but i don’t think black uniforms would really work for the lakers, even if they look slick. just stick with gold for home games, purple for road.
3peat.
Actually, the Lakers are VERY good on Sundays.
They were 11-5 last season.

2 of those losses
were at the end of the season when they were mentally checked out of the reg. season.

We are absolutely terrible on Fridays
I dont even need to see their record, I always felt terrible on Saturday mornings…

But Hitman works for me too
Today's sports media excels at over-reaction to a single event and specializes in hyperboles. But hey, it's that or my biochem textbook...
Shannon has got his share of tats too
A minor concern that I have is that Barnes re-energizes that old Ron-Ron of Indiana infame. And that Barnes, Artest and Brown bond in a sort of badboyz club. Are we beginning to resemble that Portland Jailblazers of old?

I just read your bio:
I don’t even like driving in the city of Boston. It’s a rat’s nest of winding one-way streets. I half expect to come to a 3-way intersection and have the one way signs all point to the intersection! THAT’S how messed up Boston is.
Haha. I’m from Providence, and I HATE driving in Boston for that very reason. I always end up on Commonwealth Ave fro some reason. When they had the Big Dig going on? Forget it. Now, I take the train out there. Saves the hassle, parking money, gas, and I don;t have to worry about drinking and driving.

Matt has the ugliest in the NBA though.
I hate his tats. They just look sloppy and seem to have no flow.

I'm not big on tats.
I have none, but at least with some of the Nuggets, theirs seem to mesh together…like Birdman’s and JR Smith’s.

But theirs are so prolific that they're gross.
JR looks like some kind of creature trying to camouflage himself and hide from his natural enemy (he’s stupid to boot, so that doesn’t help), and Anderson just looks insane. He took that Birdman nickname to heart and went hog wild. Even Kenyon Martin with those stupid lips on his neck. W.T.F.
