Quadruple Double

David-robinson_medium

I've always wanted to see a Quadruple Double form during my time as a basketball fan, and as much as I dislike Lebron, he was capable of it and was my best bet on seeing one actually form. But now that he's in Miami, it's not likely that he would actually reach this potential anymore. Duncan and Shaq had memorable near Quadruple Double performances, but those still weren't QDs. Recently, the rookie Stephen Curry also did a near QD, not as dominating as Shaq's and TD's near QDs, but it was impressive nonetheless. So I'm wondering, who do you think would be able to get the next Quadruple Double among the active players right now?

Here are the previous 4 Quad Doubles:

Date Player Team Opponent Points Rebounds Assists Steals Blocks
10\18\74 Nate Thurmond Bulls Hawks 22 14 13 12
02\18\86 Alvin Robertson Spurs Suns 20 11 10 10
03\29\90 Hakeem Olajuwon Rockets Bucks 18 16 10 11
02\17\94 David Robinson Spurs Pistons 34 10 10 10

KOBE FUCKING BRYANT

MOTHAFUCKA!!!

Kobe: "Listen, if you told me at the beginning of the year that we’ve got two games at home to win a championship, yeah, I’ll take that shit"

in all seriousness

Curry, because he rebounds, he has quick hands to steal the ball, can easily put up the points, and he sets up his teammates beautifully.

Rondo might be able to do it too for the same exact reasons

yeah you're right, but it would probably be Rondo first because he's a legit rebounder and stealer.

Dwight might have a shot, getting 10 blocks is easier for him than getting 10 assist though, so it’s all about the assists.

Rondo has the best chance

hes been proven to rebound well and has gotten some triple doubles before and he lead the league in steals last year

But on a more serious note, Rondo has a shot for reasons other people said.

LeBron also has a shot in Miami. He won’t be focused as much on scoring so he can take care of the other categories.

Dwight could if he was against a weak Center and doubled in the post a lot. He could kick it out to shooters for open 3’s and get his assists. 10 points and rebounds come naturally to him. He’s capable of getting 10 blocks on some occasions.

other… sure Kevin Durant has a chance league wise, but as far as Lakers go I really think Bynum (post gasol and Kobe) will be our best option at this point

He will get the points and rbs no prob….. As dominant force in the future, im assuming he will get alot more touches, and assists will be possible… and last of course… Bynum is capable of a block party especially when bigs his size are an endangered species

In Kobe we trust!

I say Chris Paul can come back

on a world beater year and do it. He can score, he can rebound, he always gets the asts, and he led the league in steals two years in a row. I see him being able to do it.

Gerald Wallace?

Didn’t he have one w/ the Bobcats in ’07-08?

by Danish78 on Jul 20, 2010 4:15 PM PDT reply actions

he did an almost one

I believe it was 12 pts, 9 reb, 9 blks, 7 ast. so it was impressive, but wasn’t even a double double.

PAU GASOL!!

he’s gotten 21 pts..5 blks..19 rbs…and 8 asts.. in one game so if he tries a little harder maybe lol
and i dont see kobe getting the quad but maybe with turnovers being one of them sadly :(

I gave love to CP3

its just the injury has pushed people to try to remember the last close performance from a guard and that was Rondo, but I think CP3 would be a lot closer to doing it.

i also voted for CP3.

maybe its just cuz i hate rondo.

as much as it pains me to say

Rondo. I think the most difficult stat for a guard to get double digits in is rebounds, and he rebounds well. He’s a good defender, he’s a good passer, and he can obviously score at least 10 points in a game. I hate him, but I respect him.
