from the Slam online article about draft picks
4. Derek Fisher | L.A. Lakers | 1996 Draft | 24th Overall
Fisher is a general on the floor, a consummate winner at the point guard position and has been a major contributor to the past five Lakers world championships. It is appropriate that Fisher was drafted 24th overall in 1996, the same year that his running mate Kobe Bryant was drafted. DFish has played in 199 career playoff games, the fifth-highest total in NBA history and has knocked down soooooo many clutch shots over the course of his career that it’s hard to remember them all. He might not have great size but on defense he is all over the place and has shown over the years that he is more than willing to take a big charge at any point in the game. Numbers won’t do him justice, as he has averaged 9 points, 2.2 boards and 3.2 assists for his career but his career has been more about the intangibles anyway, which is why he is so high on this list
keyword : intangibles!!!!
I heard he was bitten by a radioactive spider as a youth in Little Rock ...
ever since then his intangibles have been shall we say “extraordinary.”

Yes. Hilarious.
I reposted the link to your video.
Chris Webber does not want to be compared to Darko
Sweet 16
Epic! Webber is a professional through and through.
He could’ve laid into Kahn but didn’t.
Kahn is just terrible. He hasn’t seen a big man pass like Darko does in a long time? Tim Duncan? Pau Gasol? KG?
LOL
The Webber “good luck” at the end. Priceless.

And just to let it sink in
Your morning NBA tidbit: Vlade Divac career ast pct: 16.0 | Chris Webber: 20.2 | Darko Milicic: 7.2

Yeah, Darko passes like Vlade. Really.
To secure ourselves against defeat lies in our own hands, but the opportunity of defeating the enemy is provided by the enemy himself.
I seriously think that team would be better off
If Bill Simmons actually followed up with what he was spouting a few years ago and became Minny’s GM.

Piling on David Kahn because he’s smarter than you?

the nets just became the Bulls or Clippers of the last decade
They will suffer through 30-40 win teams for the next decade as they stumble through free agency signings and draft picks. I’m starting to think no one told the Russian that there was rules to FA and a salary cap.
And btw, is anyone slightly worried about the effect Russian Organized Crime that is very strong in Brooklyn might have on the Nets?

Goodbye Ramon Sessions..
Also, maybe he’s getting that team ready for Ricky Rubio? I read that online..

LOL, they are probably SOL on Rubio. Family doesn't like the cold and he wants to play for a large market team.
They have a large lake, but not a large market.

Derrick Caracter is unguardable. Green playing well on both ends of the court especially rebounding.
Ebanks needs to attack the boards to get himself into the ball game.
Ebank is finally getting himself into the game. Stroking the three right now......& more
importantly rebounding.
im hearing alot about strawberry.
is there any chance we can send him overseas but keep his rights. do we have to sign him in order to do that?
or what would be the chances of buss putting 14 on the roster?

Strawberry has three And-1s in the first half. Dude is fearless attacking the rim.
The Lakers could use more live bodies that like to attack the rim.
chances of strawberry making the roster?
Adam Morrison has more rings than Lebron, Bosh, and Wade combined?
just asked that question above.
not sure he would make it unless buss and mitch put 14 on the roster.

id say its ulikely
but he should make it to pre-season with Carracter/ Ebanks
Adam Morrison has more rings than Lebron, Bosh, and Wade combined?
do we have to sign him to send him overseas to play?
he looks promising, but then again, his competition isnt much right now

Send them overseas if you want the roster spots. The types of players you send overseas
are players who are projects and can’t contribute anything right now. Ebanks and Caracter can contribute right now, given how mature their games are. Plus, it helps that they only make $473K or something like that. The Lakers need cheap players, and these players can play for the Lakers right now.
i was referring to strawberry, who is a player who needs a little bit of fine tuning.
im expecting caracter and ebanks to make the roster.

Oh ok. My bad. Hmmm.......I think the Lakers would have to give him a make-
good contract for him to accept the idea that he can join the Lakers next year. Personally, give me him over Brown, even though Brown is more proven.
I really like him
but we probably need a combo guard more than another pure PG

He's a combo.
Before Kobe won the title, the line we would all hear was 'Kobe isn't as good as LeBron'. This is far from new. Laker and Kobe fans have heard it before. The names change, the premise remains the same. At different times in history, Tracy McGrady was considered to be better than Kobe. Allen Iverson was once considered his equal. Even the likes of Vince Carter, Grant Hill and Jerry Stackhouse were given the 'next Jordan' title.
Kobe has beaten all comers. They have retreated into the shadows as pretenders, whilst Kobe outlasted them all to stand alone in the League today, with his 5 rings and innumerable accolades.
Now? All the haters have left to say is ’Kobe’s no Jordan.’
You know what? They’re right. He’s not Michael Jordan. He’s Kobe Bean Bryant. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I'm going to take my talents to... your mom.
I didn't want bell anyway
the west is shaping up to be a challenge but nothing that will knock the Lakers nowhere fast
There are basic Fundamentals that are needed to move forward in this game. Always keep your guard up at all times to avoid being caught in a trap. Overcome the fouls that will be committed against you REBOUND AND PRESS ON. ADJUST to the Limelight: ALL-STAR PLAYERS ARE ALWAYS THE CENTER OF ATTENTION. Know what your role is and play your position. Find a game plan and execute it. REMEMBER YOU ONLY GET OUT OF THE GAME WHAT YOU PUT INTO IT.
Well... just post it up to another move directly influenced by LA.
