The Lakers Reign of the West is Almost Over
Everyone knows that the Boston Celtics and La Lakers have won pretty much half of all the nba titles. However, It looks like things are going to start changing, especially in the west, and especially if Phil Jackson retires.. I say this mainly because I believe there is a Dynasty on the horizon, and I'm not talking about the Lakers. This team is rather new to the league, but they are making their impact felt across the league.
They have arguably the most "up and coming," "dominant," young force in the nba in Kevin Durant, and have already played the Lakers very close this last year in a tuff 6 game series. I strongly believe the Thunder are doing enough this off-season to make a legitimate run for the belt. The Thunder and Durant looked so good against the Lakers in the playoffs, even though they were considered the most inexperienced team.
June 24th, in my opinion, was a great day for the blue and orange. They already can compete with Westbrook and Durant alone, but now they add a legitiamte, nasty Big Man in Cole Aldrich. A guy who was a major influence in the paint on a Kansas team that won the NCAA Title. Not only is Cole "Not" soft, he blocked a lot of shots and won an award for being one of the smartest college athletes.
If the Lakers dont re-sign Phil Jackson or Derrick Fisher, they have no chance. Not with the Durantula pissed off about the way his season ended, he knew they were one Big Man away last year. Don't forget he was the youngest scoring champion ever, and the team around him is improving everyday. Dont sleep on the Kings either. They will be building a new arena and now have two players that will require a double team. Its just a matter of time before we start seeing the Lakers and their good luck charms at the lottery, Durant>Aging Kobe.
Also, not that anyone really cares but; Jordan > Kobe (Always), even if he plays until he is 50 and lets All-Stars win him 10 more Titles.

Cole also averaged nearly 8 fouls a game per 36 minutes.
He’s also projected to be the biggest bust in this year’s draft. He won an award for being smart? COOL! That’s going to help so much while he’s playing basketball and solving math problems at the same time. Because you know, they do keep stats for MPSPG or math problems solved per game. Blocked a lot of shots you say? So did Hasheem Thabeet. So we’re worrying about double teaming Tyreke Evans and Demarcus Cousins while we have Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, and Andrew Bynum? The Nuggets and Mavericks
were supposed to unseat the Lakers, too. And the only team in the West that has come close in the last three years is the Rockets last year. OKC has a good young talent base, but how many teams have had that over the years & then disappeared. Don’t even bring up Sacramento yet. They haven’t done squat since Vlade was flopping for them in 2002. (I still love ya, Vlade)

I do have to agree they have a chance to be a dynasty.
In two or three years’, especially considering the cap room they have and the fact they have a smart GM. But there’s gonna be issues, they’re gonna need a pure PG and they’ll soon outgrow their coach. Nonetheless, I expect to see them in the WCF next year and the one beyond that.
