and I prefer somewhat this 3-2 setup than had it gone according to home-court advantage. I would not like our chances at all if Boston had won 3 games in a row, even if we had 2 at home.

16 to 7. They also were more aggressive down low and shot twice as many FTs, making 8 more than Boston. That helps explain the fairly close score despite the big difference in FG%.

If you watch Boston, their entire offense is either A) Off ball screens for Ray Allen, B) Iso/P&R for Pierce. or C) P&R for Rondo/KG. Outside of A, the other two sets actively seek to force the defense to switch so they can have the matchup advantage.

Boston is the better team overall. They play better D, they play through bad calls, they execute with the game on the line and they get contribution from almost every player. All of those are things the Lakers don’t do..

If the Lakers can figure out how to move the ball within the triangle, the will win this series. The pick and roll wont win this for them.

Coming from a huge Laker fan – I think we can’t win this.. Nobody has stepped up like last year – we have played GARBAGE OFFENSE and GARBAGE defense.. Without Kobe this team is fucking never going to get anything done.. I’m going to game 6 but I’m not so excited.. but this game was supposed to be do or die from what the Lakers said – and that is NOT what we got.. I can’t do this, this team has the talent to be the greatest but they just throw it away for some reason and play like complete knuckleheads when it matters most.. IMO this is going to be too much for them to overcome – this is a devastating loss and if Boston celebrates on our home court I’m going to need to take a break from basketball for awhile after the 08 series and now this.. this was our chance for redemption but so far it looks like no one gives a shit.. at the end of the day the players get back on there private jets and go their mansions and what do we get? Ok, so I want the officials to go back to Game 1 and 2
and call it tight. LA simply cannot survive if the officials are going to allow all of the bumping, arm smacking, grabbing, et. all, go in the lane. This completely favors Boston. LA simply is not that much of a cheater team. Sure we flop, probably more than most others, but we sure don’t hit. grab, or bump nearly as much as Boston. And if those are not foul calls in a given game, then Boston has a huge advantage.

Lots of things could of happened..
Kobe could have pulled a Reggie Miller, Odom and Artest could have hit some free throws, Odom could have showed more of a sense of urgency.
But all of those “luck” or “50-50” plays that are really all about effort and execution went the Celtics way.
Lakers would have lost whether Artest hit or missed those shots. Seems like this will be another hit to his confidence.

from game 2 till now. I’ve been one of those " lakers will player better, lakers will get this one" for three games. I’m so disappointed with the rest of the team. I feel terrible for kobe. The man worked the hardest, went through the most, and now gets no reward for his excellence. His window is closing and no one seems to care. the lakers shoot above 44 percent in such a long time. sigh. what bothers me is how good this team can be. we’re not playing up to our potential. In the past, we lost series because our team was just downright lacking talent wise. Now we have talent and we can’t get it done due to our arrogance. It’s like 04.

and if that fails, they at least need to be up at halftime to have a chance. With the celtics win tonigth team leading after the first quarter are 59-19. Of those 19 games where a team won despite a poor first, only 9 were the team down after the first half.

I can’t do this, this team has the talent to be the greatest but they just throw it away for some reason and play like complete knuckleheads when it matters most.. IMO this is going to be too much for them to overcome – this is a devastating loss and if Boston celebrates on our home court I’m going to need to take a break from basketball for awhile after the 08 series and now this.. this was our chance for redemption but so far it looks like no one gives a shit.. at the end of the day the players get back on there private jets and go their mansions and what do we get? but I am going to guarantee you that we are winning game 6. we’re also in despair because we haven’t seen the Lakers comfortably win in a while. Boston never had a comfortable game either. Yea I’m tired of believing and then watching them fail us. This is our team though. you can’t feel this way until its all over. We get game 6 then the whole series is up for grabs. It’s about who wants it more. We asked for all lakers to show up for the past 2 games. The message has been clear for a while. Of course it’s heroic and it would make for a great story line – but the truth of the matter is this isn’t a Hollywood movie, it’s possible but unlikely – just because I don’t sit there and chirp about how the Lakers can overcome all odds doesn’t make me any less of a fan.. I agree 100% I want the Lakers to win both – I just want some re-assurance after this game, it was pretty fucking devastating to me .. I don’t mean to put anyone down or say the Lakers can’t win.. I love them more then anything, I’m just feeling low right now..

Totally agree with shaqfor3. Shake things up a bit. Don’t want to be like Jerry Sloan which he should’ve used Gaines in the series. You don;t know what you got till you try it. If Mbenga or Powell plays bad, put in your usual players, simple as that.

Im sure you have all probably heard the media quote this 50 billion times, but I shall say it again…“No rebounds, no championships.” You can probably make the argument that we barely lost the rebound battle in game 5, but still we should be dominating this team in this department especially since they are one of the worst rebounding teams in the league. Time after time in this game I saw the Celtics beating us out to rebounds and when we did get the ball, we couldnt control it and someone else went and got it. We need to do better or the season ends on Tuesday, though I still think we can pull this off.

Well, this game we just played like shit
They had so many rebounds because we were bricking man. We had them on the offensive boards, it just hurt soooo much more when they got theirs. We can’t allow those guys to shoot over 50%, border 60%, for the game. Outshot like 70% to 30% the first half.
We played sloppy, threw the ball away, and lost.
We’ve got two home games, and we’re going to take this in 7.

to sell them you have to call people you know and schedule appointments with them, well I dont have a lot of people to call and on top of that, I dont have the balls to make schedule appointments over the phone. So in a desperate attempt, I started going door to door and beg people to show them, but to no avail. Oh and on top of that I lied and said I scheduled 7 appointments….
