Cook questions

Would anyone here care to comment on Brian Cook?  It seems that the Nuggets are going to sign him given their injury to Kenyon Martin.  I am curious to hear what those who actually have watched him play feel about him.

Star-divide

The Nugs are the victim of a ill-conceived 8 man rotation which is grinding their bigs to a pulp.  If the Nugs had avoided this, they would likely be the strongest challenger to the Lakers.  I think the Mavs may have passed them up in that department as of now, and their cakewalk schedule will likely ensure a 2 seed.  But it still seems that Dallas is more intimidated by the Lakers, where the Nugs show some guts and aren't afraid.

But now, with Martin sidelined for who knows how long, they're going to sign Cook to fill the void (the plan apparently is to use Cook and Johan "French Tickler" Petro to fill the void, which seems half assed and desperate to me).

I've heard Cook described as a respectable stretch forward, and also as a chemistry killer.  What does Laker nation think?

Thanks in advance for your input.

at one point

i liked cook but that was only because he was hitting his 3s. i think his best moment as a laker came when he hit a 3 with less than a min to tie the game vs the rockets in the first game of the 2008 season. of course we lost that game.

idk if the nuggets need cook even with kmart out i think he would turn the ball over,be kind of a pancake on D and really the guy does not have that much heart.

Cook is pretty much done

He’s been out of shape for quite a while and really was only useful when he was making threes. Houston basically only used him in garbage time situations (and a bit last year during the playoffs because their frontcourt depth evaporated). Honestly, you guys should take a flyer on someone like Rob Kurz. Aren’t a whole lot of decent veteran bigs on the market (unless you want Jake Voskuhl).

He would be a semi-decemt big man if he focused on playing defense and staying within his role on the team,

but he stands outside the 3 point line on offense and jacks up shots as often as he can. He is very timid and not very tough. Kinda the opposite of your current roster. You are better off going in another direction. There is a lot better, younger, more athletic talent in the D-league.

Brian Cook is massive fail

Last year in the second round the Rockets tried throwing Cook out there to defend Gasol. Pau’s eyes lit up like it was Christmas morning, and proceeded to make Cook look silly with three straight post moves. This was basically the last we saw of him that series. Nicely encapsulates Cook’s possible impact on a team i think.

Kobe Bryant got Brian Cook paid, lol.

KB got the most of him before he received a long contract by some team. Cook isn’t good. At all.

I think the Lakers should sign Larry Hughes and his bum finger. He can’t have a lower b-ball IQ than Brown or Farmar, right? Right?? The Lakers could use the depth.

Can't believe we've been reduced to this

Cook is useless

i remember when he was with the Lakers. He did nothing but chuck up midrange bricks or 3s….

I met him once and he was a cool dude

but on the court he reminded me alot of Sam Perkins but without the ability to shoot. Both him and Samaki walker were useless they might have been related. : )

I don't remember too much about Brian Cook

which is not a good thing. Never quite developed into a productive player.

This is a great video of one of my favorite players, Chuck, King Charles, Turrible, however you know him, meet him again here. He loved the game, and was AWESOME!
