Where's Wally? Or am I being stupid.
Maybe I'm being silly, but why don't the lakers sign Szerbiak, dude shot 41% from behind the arc last year, better than anyone in purple and gold we want shooting 3's(powell and walton shooting over 45%). Maybe I'm being naive but surely he could stretch the defence a little bit and free up the middle and I don't know I'd much prefer him taking an open corner 3 than anyone we currently have. Am I being stupid?

No, you're not being stupid
The real question is whether Szczerbiak still wants to play or not. He’s battled knee problems and is unsure whether he wants to risk a really serious injury by returning. That said, it wouldn’t hurt to take a flyer on him for the reasons you’ve outlined — he definitely can still stroke it.
To secure ourselves against defeat lies in our own hands, but the opportunity of defeating the enemy is provided by the enemy himself.

i suggested this idea a while back but i think its too late now to add him
because deals must be done before march 1 so that the player is playoff eligible…

isn't that for players who need to be waived by mar. 1st?
i think the signing deadline is a bit later (otherwise the cavs won’t get to sign Z)
oh nevermind
I just never really heard of teams signing players in mid/late march. I dont know why. I just assumed any type of deals must be completed before March 1st.

Pretty sure he's an analyst for ESPN
And done with his career.

wally could be good
i was on a some teams blog and they said that wally was never going to play basketball ever again and that x team should trade him and get value for him. that was the last i heard of him i think it was on the t wolfs blog

I dunno
While a 3-point sniper is always useful, the Laker offense is predicated around ball movement and slashing cuts off post players. I’m not sure Wally would cut it in these areas, not to mention the hit we take on defense when he subs for lamar, kobe, artest, or even someone like Walton.

I actually thought about this a couple weeks ago.
The guy can still knock down threes at a 40+% clip. The Lakers desperately need a legit 3-pt threat IMO. That and PG defense. So signing Wally would help fix one of our major flaws.
