Here at SS&R, and likely elsewhere, Lakers fans have come to terms with Kobe Bryant's contract status at the end of this year and next year - we know he can opt out, but he shouldn't, he can't, he won't!


SI.com recently added some circulating, albeit subdued, thoughts into the discussion, and alas, our deepest fears are exposed.

In my opinion, I think it's an absurd thought.
