How we'll finish the reg. season
One month to go and the schedule is:
@ phoenix — L
@ golden state
@ sacramento
minnesota
washington
@ san antonio — ?
@ oklahoma city — L
@ houston — ?
@ new orleans
@ atlanta — L
utah — ?
san antonio
@ denver — L
@ minnesota
portland — ?
sacramento
Clippers
You have to figure that we'll drop most of the key road games. We're 17-13 on the road now and have lost all major recent road games except Boston. I can't see us beating Phoenix, San Antonio, OKC, Atlanta, or Denver in their arenas.
I also think we could stumble once or twice against lesser opponents, and probably one of those will come at home.
I'm figuring six more losses, and maybe seven.
That takes us to 58-24, or worse, and we'll lose home court against Dallas, and maybe Denver.
Even if we win a couple of those road games, I have trouble visualizing 60 wins and having a potential seventh game in the West Finals at Staples.

Im supposed to be the master of Pessimism!
for a second, i thought it was desecrator who was writing this article.
"I work my ass off every day in practice. How many other guys can say the same thing? Not many. I'm fighting against becoming soft. That's the worse thing you can say to a basketball player." - Dennis Rodman
LOL!
"E-Coaches are heavy in here tonight! Take E-Sasha and put him on the E-bench on your fantasy league, that’ll show him!" - Jevon O
he's usurping your throne! ;-)

Oooops, nobody likes reality checks?
C’mon guys, what good does it do to kid ourselves?
This team isn’t the 2009 edition. We all know that they CAN win, but they haven’t found the formula yet.
This is going to be a struggle all the way to the playoffs, and we’ll struggle through every series. There aren’t going to be any walkovers, like we’ve had in the past.
All it takes is for the Lakers to sleep through one home playoff game, lose it, and then we’re in a battle for survival against OKC or somebody.
Let’s be realistic about this. Running from it doesn’t serve any purpose.
Thanks.
heres my guesstimate:
@ phoenix — L
@ golden state W
@ sacramento W
minnesota W
washington W
@ san antonio — W
@ oklahoma city — L
@ houston — L
@ new orleans W
@ atlanta — L
utah — W
san antonio W
@ denver — L
@ minnesota W
portland — W
sacramento W
Clippers W
i think we will finish 59-23
"Just by the aura of D.J. Mbenga being there, the shot missed."
i want us to beat devner
but my brain tells me otherwise…
"Just by the aura of D.J. Mbenga being there, the shot missed."
You guys will get 59 wins, which means 5 more losses, @Phoenix, @OKC, @Atlanta, @Denver, Portland
Top of the west standings will be:
Dallas 60 wins
L.A 59 wins
Denver 57 wins
Dallas-L.A WCF, Lakers win in 7.
Those standings are believable
but if that series went to seven games, I couldn’t see us puling it out..
pslakerfan: "Well if you can get in (the Hall of Fame) by being a scorer who doesn't rebound or play defense.....
Then I guess you can get in by being a rebounder and defender who can’t score." referring to Dennis Rodman
As much as it pains me to say it, i’m not going to predict you guys losing a series before the finals as long as that guy in your name is walking, i see him carrying the team on his shoulders in a big 4th quarter comeback in game 7. And then the Lakers and Cavs go at it and the guy in my name creates his own game 7 4th quarter miracle to end the greatest finals series ever, and that’s how the season ends. You heard it here first.

I like your posts
They’re entertaining.
I’m also intrigued by what makes you want to read and post on a Lakers blog. I know many others do it. But I could care less about reading a Cavaliers blog or any other team’s. They’re just not interesting to me I guess.
Well, I guess I’d maybe find a Celtics blog interesting or at least very humorous.
It’s cool that you don’t talk a bunch of crap. You say some really interesting things sometimes; one-sided and biased of course, but interesting. I like it.
But I would love to see a 4th quarter game seven against the Cavaliers in the Finals because that means the Lakers would be in the Finals to begin with, something that isn’t guaranteed for either team… and I’d like our chances. A game seven showdown between Kobe and Lebron would be an instant classic.
Whenever I get worried about the Lakers in big games against opponents like James, I just remember the Olympics when they were on the same team and it was Kobe who came through and saved the day. But if James finally does it, he’s the man and hats will be off to him.
Magic made me a Laker fan.
This is the first blog i go to after i look at the cavs blog because i still see you guys as the biggest obstacle between us and the championship. So i follow lakers news almost as closely as i follow my own team just so i get all the info i can on our biggest competition to see whose playing well, whose playing badly, injuries etc etc.

lakers finish 60-22
we ride a nice 6 game win streak…stopped by mr. durant and his thunder
a grind-it-out win in houston.
then one of effortless games in which we lose to hornets after the back-to-back in okc and hou
another kobe game winner to save the lakers in the game @ ATL…
loss to the spurs…somehow ginobili kills us in this game
i’m calling the game @DEN the best game the lakers will play in the reg. season…reminiscent of games 5 and 6 of last year’s WCF
the loss to portland in which it’s going to be a tough loss
Last year I'd take a game 7 on the road, but...
The Lakers took out both Denver and Orlando in their building. This year, I’m not looking forward to a game 7 in Dallas or Denver.
If the Lakers got behind in either setting a bunch of them would freeze up and Kobe would starting launching, figuring it was their only chance. Recipe for losing.
All I want to see is some proof — any proof — that there is another gear to this team.
Even a half-gear.
I’d like to see them slap around all the Western playoff teams that are on the schedule, just to tale away some of hope and swagger that’s building. Too many teams think the Lakers can be had and it would be great to put a serious lid on that, right before the playoffs.
Surprisingly
we still have the best record in the West…and second best in the NBA..i’m still baffled when I look at the standings, and think about the level of crapiness we’ve been bringin to the game all season long..MIND-BOGGLING
I hope and want the Lakers to go on a winning streak at some point so
I say they only lose twice, I’ll decide later what teams that would be because Lakers need to make a push and a positive push going into the playoffs so teams will know that they don’t want to see the Lakers and that 3 game slip was nada, nothing, never going to happen again. I’m looking forward to this happening.
There are basic Fundamentals that are needed to move forward in this game. Always keep your guard up at all times to avoid being caught in a trap. Overcome the fouls that will be commited against you REBOUND AND PRESS ON. ADJUST to the LimeLight: ALL-STAR PLAYERS ARE ALWAYS THE CENTER OF ATTENTION. Know what your role is and play your position. Find a game plan and execute it. REMEMBER YOU ONLY GET OUT OF THE GAME WHAT YOU PUT INTO IT.
i think we finish 64-19
dallas has no chance of catching us. lakers win it all
YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOARD YES!
