Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

So Kobe was the Portland problem :)

No Kobe, no Roy, and we blow out the Blazers.

Maybe we should experiment when Kobe gets well; leaving him home the next time we play there.

Maybe we should leave him off for vacation if we meet them in the playoffs.

Obviously, this is just having a good time here.

However, I do hope he gets adequate time to heal. Never mind home court. If this Lakers team is completely healthy, nobody can stay with them — not the Nuggets, not the Spurs, not anybody in the East.

Just be as close to 100% in postseason, and I don't care where the games are played — we'll be hanging up another banner.

If we're still hurt in the playoffs, then home court won't save us.

If Phil and Mitch are smart about this, and order Kobe to back off, it'll pay off in May and June.

Yes

Kobe was the problem. He’s been taking too many shots in the first quarter, not allowing the team to get warmed up and hit some shots.

As much as I love Kobe, I do think that he’s part of the problem sometimes in that he takes too many dagger shots at times, which when they don’t fall, allow the other team to come back and score in transition.

If they can just learn from this and have Kobe pace himself better, the team as a whole will benefit IMO.

Magic made me a Laker fan.

what I wish for Kobe

is to realize when to take over a game, and when to go through the triangle. Even in taking over a game, acting as a decoy instead of forcing it should be in his mind. I wish he take a look at game 6 of the WCF and game 5 of the finals last year. That’s the Kobe I love. drawing the double team, passing to ariza for the three. Driving to the hoop, then at the last second passing to Pau for the dunk/lay-up.

yes, but lately pau's been getting a case of kwamenitis

and artest has been missing a lot of wide open ones (as well as the rest of the team).

I’m leaning more towards Brandon Roy not playing than Kobe being the problem.

i agree

the lakers are going to be a bit predictable without kobe. why do i say this? yes they are winning because the line up is different and every tactic every team has for the lakers are against kobe. soon enough, the Pau strategy will be studied. Kobe brings in stuff other players cant.

Long before there was LBJ, there was another physically talented power forward prowling the hardwood.

This is a great video of one of my favorite players, Chuck, King Charles, Turrible, however you know him, meet him again here. He loved the game, and was AWESOME!
