Carter killing Cleveland in the 4th

id like to see cleveland lose 3 straight , we’d be tied in loss column

Carter-Nelson pick and roll killed them

I mean the Magics used that play like 5 times in a row and Carter found himself free 4 times out of 5 …

looking at the cavs magic game....

Jamison looks like he’ll fit in fine but I think the one guy thats gonna hurt most is Mo Williams. He looked lost out there and the shots he took were pretty bad.

by desecrator09 on Feb 21, 2010 1:16 PM PST reply actions

the worst player they have is West

He’s like the J.R Smith of the East (well he’s not as good of a shooter as JR) with the amount of bad shots he takes and he’s a black hole . I’m sure Mo’ll be fine . One thing though if big Z doesn’t get bought out , cleveland will be in trouble with our size since Shaq can’t play that long and he doesn’t have a real backup

by madmaxx350 on Feb 21, 2010 1:25 PM PST up reply actions

Even if we do get him back

I heard that unless the buyout is before March, the player isn’t eligible for the playoffs.

I think Nate Robinson is a good addition to the Celtics.

The Celtics need scoring, and need it badly. Scoring is the one thing Robinson does well. I think he’ll showcase his passing skills too. He’ll fit in just fine. The Celtics could have Robinson and Rondo on the floor at the same time for short periods of time, making the Celtics better at fastbreaking.

by E-ROC on Feb 21, 2010 1:25 PM PST reply actions

well the problem here is

that the players seem not to like him

i think house was a better fit for them

like he was really efficient at draining the 3
though robinson should help their bench’s offense a lot more…

On Saturday, Bryant and Vujacic combined on the Lakers’ practice court to do another fun bit: a little soccer-themed segment for ESPN. When Bryant came out of the Lakers’ training room ready to do it, Vujacic wasn’t there. So Bryant headed back in to find him (Vujacic was in there showing Derek Fisher exactly where it hurts on Vujacic’s sprained shoulder) and drag him out.
Vujacic came quickly back out with Bryant, trying to explain: "I was talking to El Presidente," a reference to Fisher being the president of the NBA players’ association.
Bryant didn’t want to hear it and ducked behind Vujacic and grabbed him by the shoulders with both hands to usher him along.
"Oh, yo-yo-yo-yo!" Vujacic howled, sliding his lower body forward to escape the contact because of the pain in his right shoulder.
It was funny … almost as funny as Vujacic’s quote upon being asked about the Olympics.
Vujacic, who is from Slovenia, offered this simple summary to the local reporter: "You guys are winning."

that article actually links to another funny Kobe and Sasha moment dating back Oct 2008 that I hadn’t/don’t remember reading..

http://www.ocregister.com/sports/vujacic-55083-bryant-says.html

Flush with that fulfilled feeling of workout done hard, Vujacic does one last thing as he nears Bryant and the exit door of the court. His reversible white jersey already soaked through with sweat, the extra tape on his left ankle visibly peeking up out of his sock, Vujacic pauses to grab a loose ball and throw up a 50-foot hook shot. It misses.

Bryant scoffs. He laughs. He says it wasn’t even close.
Vujacic clangs the rim a few times and grows increasingly frustrated.
"Now don’t start pulling your hair out!" Bryant says to the shaggy Slovenian.
Vujacic tries banking the ball in and comes very close on most every attempt – but can’t stick the landing.
"This is like watching ‘Titanic,’ " Bryant says. "The uncut version!"

The whole article is quite funny and worth reading.

This is interesting.

HP looks at “rim” defenses and the Lakers are not that great against upper echelon teams.
http://www.hardwoodparoxysm.com/2010/02/18/nba-hd-a-look-at-at-rim-defense-by-team/

The Lakers plummet 14 spots in the ranks going from poor offenses to good offenses as their field goal percentage skyrockets from .549 to .656. It could prove fatal in the playoffs once you consider that most playoff teams excel at the basket. Although, the Lakers did stop the Spurs recently last Monday, holding Tim Duncan and the rest of the Spurs to just 16-34 shooting at the basket, which serves as a sharp contrast to their 18-24 FG showing on January 12th. This will be something to watch as the season goes on.

Of all the upper echelon teams (the teams I consider upper echelon anyway) the Lakers are the highest in FG% allowed against the “good” teams.

Denver is 8-2 (thus far Boston game going on right now not included) against the upper-echelon teams. Upper-echelon teams being Boston, Dallas, San Antonio, the Lakers, Orlando, and Cleveland. They still have to play the Lakers twice and Boston, Dallas, Orlando, and San Antonio once.

In contrast, the Lakers are 5-6 against these teams. Lakers still have to play Denver twice, Spurs twice, Dallas once, and Orlando once.

Just as FYI: A player can return to the team that traded 30 days after the trade, but there can’t be a pre-arranged deal to so. Have pre-arranged deals happened for years? Yup. Has the NBA ever tried to enforce it much? Nope. Folks asking if NBA can stop Z return to Cavs: If league can show evidence of a pre-arranged deal, yes, it can. Real hard to prove, though.

The Cavs have won with him yet

but really, I think his lack of any postseason success in the NBA has more to do with playing most of his career with the Warriors and Wizards, 2 teams known more for the W’s in their name and lack of W’s in the win column.
