maybe getting snubbed from the all-star team was a good thing. hopefully it motivates him to come to play every night.

BOOM!!!!!!!!!!! POSTAH!!!!!!!

way to shut that trash talking KG right up, Drew!

Lakers 2009 Road to Redemption: TREVOR, DEREK, LAMAR, PAU & KOBE.
Play the game of which Lakers reminds you of: TA - TI, Shannon Brown - Chris Brown, Pau Gasol - Jesus, Machine - Luis Scola/Russell Brand, PJ with mustache and beard - Colonel Sanders.

chris paul out for 2 months. billups as replacement?

by chaucer on Jan 31, 2010 9:34 PM PST reply actions

although the west is guard heavy…brooks deserves consideration as well. but who picks the replacements? stern of george karl?

by chaucer on Jan 31, 2010 9:35 PM PST reply actions

a good chance to send kaman…

You know what I love about that clip?

Look how Drew catches the initial pass. He uses his frame to shield off Garnett and his long arms to go out and get the ball. Really good post technique.

Rare glimpse of Kobe admitting his mistakes

Of course, followed by some confidence, heh

Kobe: "Throughout the course of the game I was pretty much a decoy because of all the traps and everything I did wrong, but if I catch it at the top of the floor, it’s a different story."

LOL

THATS KOBE BEING KOBE

There are basic Fundamentals that are needed to move forward in this game. Always keep your guard up at all times to avoid being caught in a trap. Overcome the fouls that will be commited against you REBOUND AND PRESS ON. ADJUST to the LimeLight: ALL-STAR PLAYERS ARE ALWAYS THE CENTER OF ATTENTION. Know what your role is and play your position. Find a game plan and execute it. REMEMBER YOU ONLY GET OUT OF THE GAME WHAT YOU PUT INTO IT.

Tough luck for Chris Paul. Trips over a photographer/camera and he’s getting knee surgery. Expected time off is about 2 months.

by intuitive on Jan 31, 2010 11:13 PM PST reply actions

I thought one of Bynum's best plays

was his block against Perkins in the 1st. You could just tell that Perkins didn’t respect Bynum and thought he could muscle his way to the rim for an easy one. Bynum swatted the ball away building up confidence that ended up leading to a nice game and a facial on Boston’s favorite trash talker.

wow i looked at the final play of the game again

we are very fortunate tonight…
allen sets a screen at the top of the key to isolate himself from kobe
and kobe goes to pierce who appears to be driving toward the rim for the final shot
but pierce on the play was used as a decoy to get ray allen open for the final shot
luckily odom recognized that allen was wide open at the last second and rotated over to contest the shot…if he didnt contest the shot, there is a good chance ray ray would have drained it and won the game for the celtics…

Yep Odom made a great rotation

I said as much in the game thread (pats self on back)

Rec not only for Bynum destroying KG

But the nice Gladiator reference.

To secure ourselves against defeat lies in our own hands, but the opportunity of defeating the enemy is provided by the enemy himself.

rec'd

that sure shut KG up pretty fast afterwards.

by altree on Feb 1, 2010 1:43 AM PST reply actions

I think I've watched this clip about 10+ times. Teehee.

I’m praying for Drew’s health in this next game.

by l3oh on Feb 1, 2010 2:24 AM PST reply actions

I thought this was hilarious...

the only time KG did his annoying defensive clap, was when he was guarding Shannon Brown in transition, lol. I guess he has to pick on the little guys now, with AB posterizing him like this. Ha ha.

given bynum’s history against memphis, i hope he goes out and scores a career high in points and rebounds.

I agree. Enough crap about a Memphis curse.

Which of these things is not like the others? 15 NBA Championships, most wins in NBA history, current NBA champions, lost by 20 to the F'ing Spurs.

by olf on Feb 1, 2010 12:57 PM PST up reply actions

KG pushes Bynum, too, before he takes off

But Andrew would not be denied.
