reading the title of some of the links you posted, i am glad it isn’t only i who saw gasol regressing into his old “soft” self, along with the rest of the team being outmuscled. this had shades of boston beating us in 2008. we have to match the intensity, we have to be physical. maybe losing this game was a good thing. we’ll see…
i agree
the only part i didnt like about last night was gasols 2 missed freethrows. we didnt play as physical as they did but we really cant. gasol is overmatched with shaq by at least 70 pounds and an 2 inchs.
i think we will be fine though, everytime i worry about the lakers they make me stfu so this to me a is a good sign

I don't know about soft, but being much lighter means he should in turn go right by the Shaqshyte man.
I don’t understand why bucking Phil doesn’t use Benga on shaq, being the heaviest of our centers, I mean Bynum is just lacking in motivation and brains. The only thing I saw that pretty much showed where the game was going, is when KB wouldn’t give the ball up. Sometimes I think that he just tries to do to much, KB thats why they call them teammates. I did see Phil call timeout in the beginning to yell at Farmar, but all that did is break the early momentum. But all in all it is just a preseason game and the Lakers will probably go and win 6 in a row, while Cleveland will lose 3 of 6.

I’d like to buy John Ireland a drink, and give him a nice hug.
thank you.

Thnx for the links
I’m glad that at least Kobe is acknowledging their weakness. Let’s hope that they make the adjustments that Kobe talks about.

Lebronicus
Lebronicus:a very athletic dinosaur,is demonstrative when in competition, smells fears and eats regular season games for all 3 of the days meals. while being dominant Lebronicus has a few weaknesses, seeing a brooklyn nets jersey sends lebronicus into a money hungry rage, few if any are spared.
Lebronicus is a high energy consumer so he needs frequent rest. Lebronicus favorite resting periods are June-August and every once in a while he might even take a nap in the 1st quarter of a basketball contest.
Not even fire can defeat Lebronicus but as evidenced Magic,Spurs,Celtics, and sometimes Wizards have enjoyed slaying the Lebronicus.
heres a picture of Lebronicus taking a photo of the 2009 world champion L.A Lakers

And in stark comparison to his award articles, BtBS articles display Dwyer at his best
That with Mo Williams out, Kobe Bryant hurting (and sitting), and the Cavs really gunning for a Thursday night win while Phil Jackson seemingly gunned for patience and the long haul, this game was an exercise in scouting fodder for us. Nothing more.
And I’ve gone back and forth on what to write about this game, straying from declarative statements to dismissive write-offs and no points in between. At this point, with deadline approaching, let me just tell you what I do know — I am so, so glad I have this one stuck on the Tivo.
The Cavs really wanted this, and while I’m not going to tell you that the Lakers did not, this was obviously something that was more important to Cleveland. Hurt by the way the Lakers dominated Cleveland last season, and the recent news that Mo Williams might be out until it’s time to fill out our NCAA brackets, the Cavs needed a pick-me-up.
For now, though? Much respect, for both teams. Kobe’s going to have to back off a bit, and stop putting his teammates on blast. He has a top-heavy team, we know the bench is no help, but his helpers at the top need consistent looks in the post. Merely giving this guy credit for playing through the injuries? Those days have to end. Kobe has to play like someone playing through injuries. He’s going to have to stop taking 25+ shots. On this team, he should never have to take that many.
And Phil Jackson is thinking long-term, which is fantastic. As someone who hated it in winter and … well, there was no “spring” in the regular season in Chicago; but as someone who couldn’t stand the tinkering as a Bulls fan, every year you saw it pay off in the playoffs. Nobody likes to be patient, but everyone likes a winner. And the Lakers are still the class of this league.
The Cavs? They wanted it, and they took it, and it was great to watch. Here’s hoping they can circle the wagons with a guard or two on the bench.

To secure ourselves against defeat lies in our own hands, but the opportunity of defeating the enemy is provided by the enemy himself.
On the contrary, I think Kobe should shoot more
And put his teammates on more blast.

we are a much better team when he gets everyone else involved early…and when he finishes the game strong.
haven't you realized that our offense sometimes stalls when he tries to do that?
we get turnovers, no offensive rebounds and the other team just get us on the fast break. At least when Kobe is shooting, he forces the bigs to get in rebounding positions if he misses. then they get easy buckets. Odom gets but i sometimes wonder if the others get it
yesss
kobe needs to take less shots
his finger is obviously killing him
hes been shooting horribly last 10 or so games…
meaning he should be more selective on his shots and try to feed it into the paint
i think yesterday was excusable since our bigs played soft and got pushed around by the cavs 200 year old bigs and the bench let us down for the most part…but in the rest of the games coming on the road trip, kobe needs to take less shots and also get some DAMN rest. i know he wants to play through the pain but he needs to start thinking of the long term too…
"Just by the aura of D.J. Mbenga being there, the shot missed."
the reason kobe had to shoot so much
is cuz the frontcourt was shut down. That makes Kobe have to carry more and thats not a formula for sucess against this team. Remember, this is the exact way the Celtics beat us in 08. I dont know why you guys arent more concerned about this. We simply cant play physical, East Coast ball and if we meet these guys in the Finals, I dont expect to win.

Pau looked extrememly soft yesterday
He better toughen up or we’ll be looking at another 08 Celtics punking again this year
The key to the lakers winning against any physical team is to Run and when not running, Run the ofense.
Holding the ball on the wing just kills the Lakers if they don’t move the ball the Bobcats could beat them, oh wait they already owns us. I can’t believe sometimes that these guys are pros because of some of the bonehead crap they do, that includes the OVER PAID coaches. But all in all I am not worried because the playoffs will be different, and I don’t feel the Cavs will get past 2nd round. I love how Nobron mocks teams at the end of put away games, because he doesn’t have to play them the next game. But in the playoffs you have play that team the next game, so wake up NoBron.

i really don’t understand why he does that. people, analysts, haven’t really focused on this and criticized him for it.
Yah that was what was killing the team 4 years ago, but maybe he just does it during the season.
Hopefully in the post season he wakes back up, and I feel he needs to take a 10 day Disable list to let that body heel up. But heck Chaucer he probably well even play the all-star game, dude is a warrior. I don’t really feel anybody could step into those nikes right now.
