Kobe signed with a deliciously pressed sandwich? Can't say I blame him :)

Notice how LO's just a throw in.

These Kardashians sure know how to whore themselves out for the publicity. No doubt they chose LO because:

1. He loves the fame.
2. He teammates with Kobe. The biggest star in American sports.

The mom negotiated a $300K deal for the photos and LO didn’t get a cent. That’s twice he got screwed this off season. Get a new agent LO!

Agree about the throw in

this “thing” will definitely not last

I don't think there will ever be a team like the Lakers

that always has so many other non-basketball related issues or stories that are not related to basketball. Just part of being in LA.

Didn’t use to be that way that I remember. Magic and Pat Reilly kept them pretty well in line. And the last couple of years have been enjoyably drama free at least to me.

you are 100% right

I think I was mainly thinking of the time since Shaq and Kobe have been on the Lakers. At first it was their bickering which always took the spotlight away from the team. I seriously blame shaq for that aspect becuase he was the one who was always taking shots at Kobe throught the media. Then it became Kobe’s personal issues off the court. After that it was his demand for a trade two years ago. I don’t really look at the LO/Khloe marriage a big deal but the media sure makes a big deal out of it.

I love Phil's sarcasm

while referencing the supposed “Team of the Decade” San Antonio’s failure to go back to back. Like he didn’t know.

Yea, love Phil’s humor. Remember when he called Leon Powe Leon "POW’. Haha, Phils got the greatest quotes in the NBA.

I actually agree with Monte Ellis.

Ellis and Curry are the same size, even though Ellis is tons more athletic than Curry. Neither of them can defend a two guard. It’ll be interesting to see if the Warriors can get rid of Ellis’s contract. Lol, the Lakers could probably go six games over .500 next season, and win the division by a landslide.

by E-ROC on Sep 30, 2009 8:06 AM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Haha.

Elis might be right, but considering his seemingly shaky status with the team, I think he should see how it plays out first. Unless he knows it might mean they look to trade him. He really put the Warriors in a bind by getting on a moped, hurting himself and lying about it for about 2-3 weeks. He should just shut up.

I understand Captain Jack’s stance. I personally don’t think the Warriors , as an organization are interested in winning. Why should they be. The fans love them, and they sellout all of the time. They aren’t used to having an elite team. The organization has it good. Winning leads to expectations. Which leads to disappointment when expectations fail, which leads to lack of interest, which means less money.

Lakers-fan.com ranks the Best Benchwarmers ever.

These are the guys who do the “Machine” videos, so realize it’s humor.

Ronny should have been on that best Benchwarmers list instead of Sun yue

Although, I guess Ronny wasn’t exactly a Benchwarmer …. but still, Ronny was a billion times more the fans favorite than Sun ever will be.

I'm not so sure this list was a good thing to be on.

Most of these dudes didn’t play…..or stunk. Ronny is/was good.

I partially agree on Joe johnson

But I think he’s smart to weigh his options . I think you’re right that next year’s crop of FA’s have more cache than Joe, but he is still a damn good player. Maybe he realizes that the ATL isn’t where he can achieve the most team success and that he could get a very good contract (not max, but still over 10 mil) with a contender next season. So many teams are saving for next summer and they all can’t land Lebron, Wade, or Bosh. Who knows, he could even end up playing sidekick to one of those guys if things break right…

I definitely see his side.

He’ll probably get the money anyway. I think this year’s and next year’s $15 mill is what $18 mill used to be. He mustbe looking at Ben Gordon’s, Charlie Villenueva’s, Hedo’s and Iggy’s contract and thinking he’s in for a huge payday.

I can understand LBJ and D-Wade spurning their teams, they have their choice of teams.

Van Gundy Criticizes Carter's Defense.

This is defenitely no surprise.

“He (Carter) did not play well defensively today. He didn’t do a good job out there. He’s capable of doing a lot better, and that’s what I want to see,” Van Gundy said. “As a matter of fact, we’ll talk to him about that and show him some (film) clips tomorrow.”
“He did not play with great focus, particularly near the end of the scrimmage,” Van Gundy said. “He just didn’t do as good a job as I know he’s capable of. He’s a smart guy and capable of being good defensively. He wasn’t at that level today. I think he would tell you that, too.”
