Too bad. Gonna miss old Kurt. He’s sure been a favorite around here for years.
Best of luck to him but he’s sure got his work cut out for him.

definitely don't think that
this is the last we’ve seen of rambis in some laker capacity. he’ll be back in the fold down the road.
It’s only appropriate that Kurt replaces McHale for the coaching job.

Jerry West
on Rambis:
Dan asked West whether he thinks Kurt Rambis should consider taking another head-coaching job or wait until Phil Jackson retires and try to get the Lakers job.
“I think he wants an opportunity to go out and prove himself,” West said of Rambis
on Artest:
West said the Lakers are built to win two or three more championships. But West wasn’t 100 percent sure Ron Artest will fit in perfectly. West says Artest is more talented than Trevor Ariza, but he may not fit as well.
“Sometimes talent gets in the way of people being able to play together,” West said.

it’s true. it’s hard to say right now whether or not artest is a better fit. i’ll say this, ariza was a nearly a perfect fit for the lakers—as many of us know. i still like the fact we added a new dynamic to our team. staying put would’ve almost seemed as though we didn’t get better. as great as we were, we struggled way too much on our way to the title. while i am not saying that letting ariza go was the solution to getting better, i still like the fact we got artest, a physical player. i, too, had been wanting artest for the last 3 or 4 years. at least, until we won the title. still, if it were up to me, i’d had chosen trevor over ron artest
As I said before, it’s going to take a Laker to show a Celtic how to really coach and get the job done.
I’m wondering now if and when the Wolves are looking for a trade if Rambis will help the Lakers land a player from Minnesota the way that Mchale did for Ainge in Boston. But I know he isn’t the GM so maybe not.
I dont want to be the next Michael Jordan, I only want to be Kobe Bryant.

Maybe he'll help the Wolves land someone from the Lake Show
The Lakers are named after the nice little urban lakes in the Twin Cities, after all. L.A.’s a desert.
Seriously, though: who among the current Lakers are meant to have benefitted from Rambis as an assistant? Does he have any especial projects on the current roster?
