Artest to Lakers??? A sure Thing?

CBS sportsline is reporting that Ron Artest will reportedly sign with the Lakers after meeting with owner Jerry Buss and speaking with coach Phil Jackson

http://www.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/11838893/15861966

Im a little skeptical as the only people to report this are from CBS sports, but this would be a huge pickup if this is the case. Ariza is all but gone, but Id take Artest over Ariza every day of the week

Rotoworld also has confirmed the CBS report

Wow!

I cannot believe this. I am so stoked. The Lakers offered Ariza the MLE with the purpose or the thought that they still had to sign LO. Let’s hope we can sign LO and be ready to play next season.

There are basic Fundamentals that are needed to move forward in this game. Always keep your guard up at all times to avoid being caught in a trap. Overcome the fouls that will be commited against you REBOUND AND PRESS ON. ADJUST to the LimeLight: ALL-STAR PLAYERS ARE ALWAYS THE CENTER OF ATTENTION. Know what your role is and play your position. Find a game plan and execute it. REMEMBER YOU ONLY GET OUT OF THE GAME WHAT YOU PUT INTO IT.

If Artest does sign and we can’t re-sign Ariza we can all conclude that David Lee drove Ariza out of here.

Exactly

He thought that the same pressure he put on the Lakers to sign Bynum to an extension was going to work this time. He should of realized that Ariza was more replaceable than Bynum. Just think if the Lakers would have waited to sign Bynum his Market Value would not be in the area that the Lakers signed him for. I can almost guarantee that the ’source" leaking all of this information out about Ariza seeing other players was him.

BY Ariza it was fun while it lasted and you should get another agent because now you gotta go somewhere else

Ron can pretty much do everthing Ariza did, and then some…

Can Kobe handle Ron when worst comes to worst?

It is the shoes!!!

Artest's a warrior on the floor

And he has not had a serious issue in a long time. I would say that Sheed has been the biggest ticking time bomb.

With the signing of Artest . . .

Does that mean we can have a brawl at Staples?

by SeanMillerSavior on Jul 2, 2009 5:31 PM PDT reply actions

What for

We already showed we can’t behave in the streets of LA when the Lakers win a title.

Artest’s an upgrade over Ariza. Unless he snaps.

What does this do to your chances of keeping Odom?

It depends on whether Ron is coming in order to replace Lamar or Ariza? I’m pretty sure Mitch isn’t trying to bring in Artest in order to replace both Lamar AND Ariza. I’m not sure… I don’t like the idea of bringing in Artest.

I guess it depends on how much Lamar wants. Ariza’s agent basically drove Ariza out of here with his wild (dumb) demands.

Your perception will change. Mine did

I really liked Artest and I know you LA ppl have your doubts about his hustle and chemistry, I assure you your perception will change. With a soft Yao and Tmac, Artest put the backbone in our team. His defense is outstanding, even if he is slower now. Artest is outgoing but he went and entire season without disrupting our team and im sure he can do the same for the Lakers organization.
