LAMAR ODOM CALLS JERRY BUSS
Lamar Odom calls Jerry BussSo sayeth our man Jim Hill, a cool cat with the best hair in the biz.
The purpose of said phone call? Repairing any bridges in need of fixing after Doc B. didn't take kindly to un-returned calls from LO's agent Jeff Schwartz. Does that mean LO is definitely favoring the Lakers over, say, the Miami Heat, who have reportedly offered him five years/35 mil (or haven't, according to the Tweets of Ric Bucher)? No, but it does stand to reason that Lamar hasn't decided to close his purple and gold chapter. Otherwise, unless Odom wants an invite to Jerry Buss' poker game whenever he's in L.A., I don't know why he'd bother placing the call.
A promising development for those hoping LO will stick around. We'll have more details as they emerge.

THIS IS GOOD NEWS. We all have been frantically waiting - don't lie and say you knew this was coming. I had my browsers refreshing every 30 mins on SB nation, LATimes, ESPN, Yahoo Sports, and whatever else I could follow at work for the past 4 days, being a nervous wreck while trying to juggle two reports and... yeah I'll stop, its the weekend :D
Hopefully now we get a deal come through by the end of the week.

Sorry
Sorry man I didn’t know of course, but I’m glad to see other Laker fans interested in the team and not looking to talk down about your post.
I agree!
Trust me! the enthusiasm is welcomed. It is 11:35pm and I’m still thinking Lakers. I thought I was the only crazy Laker fan obsessed enough to be looking for good laker news this late.
This is really good news.

finally some good news
There are basic Fundamentals that are needed to move forward in this game. Always keep your guard up at all times to avoid being caught in a trap. Overcome the fouls that will be commited against you REBOUND AND PRESS ON. ADJUST to the LimeLight: ALL-STAR PLAYERS ARE ALWAYS THE CENTER OF ATTENTION. Know what your role is and play your position. Find a game plan and execute it. REMEMBER YOU ONLY GET OUT OF THE GAME WHAT YOU PUT INTO IT.
Obsessed?
It’s 1am and I’m still on here reading Laker blogs! Damn, I must be a die hard Laker fan!!! Lamar will sign with the Lakers over the weekend! MARK MY WORDS!!! And by the way “STREAKINGLIGHTS”, please check out my blogs and let me know what you think!! Keep up the good work!!!

Playing it in the press
I’m old school, but I think basketball should be played in public on the court and financial negotiations should be played in private between the parties involved. The chemistry and character of the team game suffers, IMHO, when
anything but basketball takes over. Of course, playing the private stuff in the press means more money to some, while diminishing opportunities for others. To say I don’t like the soap opera stuff upstaging The Team and The Game is an understatement. If Odom must go, then let him do it with class and, if agents are to blame for this stuff, then it’s time to rule that agents must conduct all business privately. I hope Odom stays but not at the expense of Team Lakers. (I felt the same way about Kobe, though….and The Team survived to excel; so, in other words, if it works out well, and it better, for the Lakers, for Odom to stay, I hope he stays…but enough of greed….more basketball!) sorry, I’m old and out of sorts with players and their private lives upstaging Basketball.

Yah you bet he called him
He was upset that the offer didn’t include a lifetime subscription to High Times and a 10 year supply on Zig Zags!
