Odom offer off the table
In what can only be called a stunning move Lakers owner Jerry Buss has taken the three-year $27M contract offered to Lakers F Lamar Odom off the table in an act of frustration as reported by the L.A. Times.
Another source with ESPN.com says that in actuality there is no deadline for this deal but also follows the reports that Odom while in accord with the $9M per year seeks a contract that would span more than three years.
The most likely of places for Odom to sign with are Dallas and Miami, the latter of which Odom would clearly favor, but no matter where Odom signs his subtraction may prove to be costly for the Lakers even with newly acquired F Ron Artest in the lineup.

…. there are already posts on this… there doesn’t need to be a post for every little thing odom says… just make a comment in the 3 other posts about odom
Practice what you preach:
You already left a similar comment on an Odom post yesterday, yet that didn’t stop you from doing it again today. The Odom articles will die out eventually. Just ignore them until they do… and please, for the love of Kobe, quit whining about it.

Obviously people didn’t get the message as we have yet another useless post whose limited context have been brought up in the other 3 odom posts.
Making 2 comments about it is hardly whinning. It would whinning if i continuously b*tched.
I refuse to get into childish name calling
But seriously! As I scroll down at the bottom of SSR under Editor and Chief I don’t see your name there. Just as you feel it necessary to post your comments and to try and delegate what other Laker fans should and shouldn’t post I have to tell you just let it go already! You might not of read my comments earlier when you posted the same comments. Why would you click on a post that is just going to annoy you. It obviously is causing you to have some emotional reaction to this whole thing. Chill out! it is not that bad. We all choose to post comments on this site on an individual basis not based on your needs. I seriously suggest that if you feel you have to post your displeasure with certain post then just start your own blog. If not, just ignore what doesn’t please you.

Where did I get into childish name calling? I’m just stating what others are thinking, as the previous time I said to avoid making superflouos posts, and have people agreeing that its easier to get info when its condsensed into on post. Excuse me if I’d prefer not to waste time looking through multiple posts for information, rather than just have it all conveniently located in one post. Judging from your rant, it seems like you are the one that needs to “chill out”. I made my initial comment willing to leave my complaint at that, and no longer bringing up the subject, but then people like you have to go make a bigger issue out of it then it actually is. The trouble caused by having multiple threads about LO vastly out weighs yours and giantraidclippers annoyance. Having said my peace, I would expect you not to respond thinking you will follow your own advice, “Just ignore what doesn’t please you” : )

i dont understand
miami is not willing to give a multi year deal until wade resigns. and they are already over the cap. the most they cud give is the mid level exception. 3 yrs 27mill was the best he cudve gotten. and its not like miami is more of a contender than the lakers.
somebody explain?

By the way the MLE is 5 yrs/ 34M
The Heat are trying to sell Odom on a five-year, $34 million contract at the mid-level exception
ooo nice ty
but still:“Lakers, who have offered four years and $36 million”
isnt that better then 5 yrs 34mill?

that offer is now off the table. Buss supposedly has taken this process pretty personally. And if communication were to reopen between LO and the Lakers the offer would be less than the 4 years 36 million.
LO has lowered his demands for 5 years 50 million, to 5 years 45 million. However if Lamar Odom becomes angry with the Lakers, we could very well see a repeat of the Ariza ordeal, with Odom leaving for Miami for less money due to his unhappiness with the Lakers.
i dont understand how u cud be unhappy after u won a championship. and i dont understand how he wants more/same money as artest who produced much more than he did.
btw thank you guys for gettin me caught up on all this =P

How you could be unhappy after winning a championship…. one word: EGO
Professional athletes just naturally have the biggest ego’s around. Odom probably sees guys like kirlenko and boozer getting 15 million, and feels he is entitled to get his fair worth.
Odom probably feels he shouldn’t be punished for the fact he only pays 30 minutes, since he easily can play more. It also fair to say he would be averaging close to 20 ppg and 10 rpg if he were on another team.
That’s not entirely clear. It’s not known whether Ariza was informed the Lakers were going to sign Artest. They way it sounded was that Mitch knew he had Artest in his back pocket the whole time. It is within the realm of possibility that the Lakers gave Ariza an ultimatum to either sign for the MLE or they would be signing “someone” to replace him with the next day. So Ariza was more than likely to have been informed that he was on the verge of being replaced, meaning he would have had the choice to sign, but foolishly he thought he was going to get more money else where.
