If Shaq Wins a Ring With Lebron It Will Validate That

ORIGINALLY POSTED ON BR BY ME at  BR Post

The Lakers 2000-2002 dynasty Campaign was a two man show Shaq and Kobe, Not Just the Shaq show everyone was trying to say. I know Kobe stated that he finally got the big monkey off his back, But the Point is He shouldn't even have too.

Kobe Bryant Does not have ONE credential that Lebron James and Shaquille O'Neal Both Share. Being Swept in the NBA Finals, Shaq Entered the league and finally got to the NBA Finals and got broomed by The Dreams Rockets, Lebron James got to the NBA Finals and got shut out by the Big Fundamental and the Spurs. Kobe Took Smush Parker and Kwami Freaking Brown to the Finals and at least had one thrilling Game Does that not speak volumes about Kobe and his game? Shaq (Pre Kobe) and Lebron 0. Lebron and Shaq are a Perfect Match for each other they Both Think their stool does not stink Perfect.

Shaq needed the Lakers and another Super star to win one (Kobe) got 3 Instead HMMMM, Then he went to the Heat and won another with a super star SG (Wade) O no repeat?

Lebron James is an Amazing athlete don't get me wrong He will go down as one of the greatest to play in the NBA, but crowning the King to a player that has never been at the top of the mountain is extremely premature now James is taking his title to heart Thank you Media and Fans. Yes We are All Witnesses to the "KINGS" Antics. Poor Sportsmanship,  Protecting his Kingly Image by oppressing the first amendment And lets not even start with His T-shirts.

I hope the Cleveland Cavaliers Do win a Championship and See how King James deals with the Big Monkey on his shoulders for the rest of his Career and Shaq will just have a new label The Diesel that Could only win with a Super Star Enginge running with him.

Go Ahead Laker Haters negative comments are welcomed but deep down you know the truth.

Purple and Gold Rules the NBA and the True King is sitting nicely with his Larry O'Brien trophy on one side and His Bill Russel trophy on the other. All Hail the King KB24.

Validation who???????????

Let me say that Shaq needs no validation of his greatness. Kobe is also a great player as well but………. No one says anything bad about Magic, Kareem and the Worthy express. How about Bird, aigne and Mc Hale. Even the King Micheal Jordan had pipen. So there’s no one man squads anywhere in the NBA….. Keep it real.

I’m not sure what you meant here but it will almost undoubtedly make everyone ignore the rest of your argument.

Yeah… The Lakers didn’t even get out of the first round that year

hahahah i definately did a double take, and gave a big wtf? but props to kobe for getting that team to the “finals” aka 1st round lol.

but for real tho, that team was absolutely terrible, and kobe still got them to the playoffs, and almost to the 2nd around in a full 7 game series

Smush – no longer in the league
Kobe- …..
walton – plays 10 mins, and still sucks.
L0 – …..makes a horrible second option lol, plus still learning the triangle
Kwame – top 5 in worst number 1 picks of all time

bench -

6th man – Slava – no longer in league
Chris Mihm – no longer in the league
Turiaf – recovering from heart surgery
Cook – cant don anything but shoot, and still needs to be wide open to do that well
Bynum – was a rookie and could only bench 140
Sasha – yet to even be the machine
Evans – he was alright for his role, still nothing special

i don’t quite remember slava…im confusing him for radmonovic

Kobe needed Pau, Lebron needs ANYONE, Shaq needed Dwayne, Michael needed Pippen

Anyone with half a brain knows you need more than one superstar talent to beat EVERYONE in the NBA. There’s simply too much talent in the league.

Bitter are we?

in case you havent noticed, there have been NO superstars to win by themselves. I’m guessing this is your response to Kobe/Laker haters, but im telling you bro you’re wasting you time. Those people are way too thickheaded to acknowledge theyre just being biased fools.

Every championship team had at least 2 capable guys:
Kobe – Pau/ Lo
KG- Pierce/allen
Dwade – shaq
TD- manu and parker
Kobe – shaq
TD-Robinson
Hakeem-Drexler

I can keep going. those people who are saying kobe needed to win one without shaq are retarded. I guarantee you a team of

Smush Parker
Kobe
Walton
AC green
Shaq

wouldnt have won anything.

The Finals???

Hey Mr. Triple Ocho, I can appreciate the fact that you are a true Laker fan (like me), but next time, at least try to know what the hell you are talking about before you just start blogging a bunch of run-on sentences together and wasting all of our time!!! Kobe Bryant has NEVER taken Kwame Brown or Smush Parker to the Finals!!! That team barely made it to the playoffs before losing to Phoenix in the 1st round. Also, the “Laker Dynasty” of the early 2000’s was more than just a two-man show. We had key role players that fit in the system perfectly. Players like Derek Fisher, Rick Fox, Brian Shaw and of course Mr. “Big Shot Bob” Robert Horry! So please, for the sake of all of us, next time, use periods and commas, and try to know what the hell you are talking about!!!

by Richard S on Jul 13, 2009 9:44 AM PDT reply actions

haha our role players were better last year year….

ariza > fox
old kobe > youn kobe
older fisher > younger fisher
Farmar > shaw
Pau > Samake, Ac green
LO > horry
Powell > mcoy, madsen
sasha = george

the only advantage that team, and its a big advantage is the big shaq diesel. but its not like we had a chump at center, bynum is still a top 5 center.

I don't think it's right to compare players across position like that...

You’re right in most cases if you think about individual talents, but it’s a team game and team chemistry is important. Despite all those >’s, I’d say that the old Lakers team still played better defense.

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist.

i dont know, it would be GREAT to watch!

its interesting you bring up chemistry, I think this lakers teams chemistry is alot better then the 3peat lakers. Are you forgetting shaq and kobe hated eachother?

Also our bench is way deeper.

I also feel the competition nowadays is alot more competitive, now there are superteams. The top 4 teams are stacked with talent. The lakers alone this year have 5 guys that are in the top 10 of their respective positions. Kobe, Pau, Artest, Bynum, LO. Boston has 4 potential hall of famers. Not to forget about orlando, and cleveland who have the future of the NBA in their hands.
You definately couldnt say that about the 3pt team. Granted Shaq was ridiculous ahead of the next guy closest to him at his position, those lakers relied on clutch shots more then these ones. There were so many games with those lakers that if someone didnt come up big, we wouldnt have made it to the finals.

sure laker shaq would have destroyed pau and bynum, present day kobe could have locked down young kobe, same with Dfish. I wish NBA live allowed you to simulate the 2001 lakers vs. the 2009 lakers.

those are the years kobe should have won mvp award. it still makes me sick to my stomach when i think that steve nash is a 2 time mvp (and back-to-back), while kobe has won it only once. steve nash didn’t deserve it a single time.

by chaucer on Jul 19, 2009 10:36 AM PDT reply actions

there is all this debate as to whether kobe is better than jordan (and he isn’t in my opinion). however, there are those that argue he is. regardless, to even have that argument speaks volumes about kobe’s talent. what bothers me is that when you look at his body of work, only one mvp shows up. he really should have 3 at this time. he could very well end his career as a one time mvp, yet one of the top 4 players in the history of the game. isn’t there something wrong with that?

by chaucer on Jul 19, 2009 10:38 AM PDT reply actions

Basketball is a TEAM sport. There are leaders, but in the end, is all about the team.

So, MJ won 6 titles. But he wouldn’t have won it without the whole Bulls squad. Same thing with Magic, Bird and other legends.
So, I don’t get that thing that ‘’ he’s better because he’s got a ring’’. So, DJ Mbenga is better than Malone, Vince Carter or Patrick Ewing just because he was part of a championship team? Is he a better player?
People insist in compare players by their accolades. I’m not saying that the accolades is not a way to measure greatness, but you just can’t judge someone’s ability based in the number of championships that he has won.

I was one of the lucky few to be invited to watch Game 5 vs. Denver at Metta World Peace's Private Party. He was very intense watching the game, and it was obvious that it bothered him a lot that he couldn't be there helping his teammates.

This is a video I took of Ron's reaction to Kobe's last shot at the buzzer to tie. Him raising his hands was the happiest I saw him during the whole game. I was hoping to record a great celebration.
