Kobe was tired. He didn’t look sharp out there for most of the game. Thought that pass to Pau for the and-1 in overtime was nice.

true

Phil let him play a bit TOO loose with the ball. It resulted in 7 TOs… But hey, we WON!

Magic got nice offensive production out of their front line tonight:

Lewis: 12/21 = 34

Hedo: 8/17 = 22

Dwight: 5/10 = 17

There's no doubt about it

In a grinding game of toughness, the Cavs would not have found a way to prevail down the stretch and answer the clutch plays by Orlando the way LA did. The Lakers simply are a better team than the Cavs. (Although I don’t like to admit it.)

good thing is lakers coulda played a heck of alot better tonight and still gutted out the win. hope they watch alot of film for adjustments and cleanup on the def. end with the blown assignments – cough lamar cough. dont let lewis get hot and this game would have been another blowout. well, least we can expect the lakers to shoot the ball better than they did today, i imagine.

Well, we have won it both ways in the first two games. Magic made their adjustment and it was back and forth the whole game until we took over in OT.

Van Gundy stated in his postgame conference that he doesn’t think he can throw a lineup we haven’t seen yet. This is good news because we have handled everything they have thrown at us. However, it will be CRAZY in Orlando, so we better be ready and I am positive the Lakers will.

Javie favors the visitors like most refs favor the home teams. He was a very, very bad draw for the Lakers tonight.

Didn’t he eject one of the Blazers announcers before? He can be good sometimes, mostly though he is not all that great. Sometimes I think he knows that refs are supposed to “favor the home team” and he doesn’t want to fit into the mold. Therefore he gives the road team a lot of the 50/50 calls. It is what it is I guess

Kobe: [eyes bug out a bit, shrugs] What’s there to be happy about?

He doesn’t even try anymore to be impartial. Even his compliments seem backhanded ones. And somebody needs to offer Marc Jackson a coaching gig b/c I don’t like his play calling all that much. I wish they’d bring hubie brown instead, and wish they’’d take the best of the ESPN post game coverage crew and the best of TNT post game coverage crew (Magic, Stewart A Scott, Charles Chuck Barkeley, Kenny Smith) and do a special finals crew. Ditch Wilbon, JB, Webber, Ernie.
I expect the lakers to lose game 3, make the adjustments and win game 4, then lose 5, and come back to close it out in 6.

One thing I know for sure is that

the Lakers can’t play on the road the way they played today, Kobe made plays but overall he sucked, Fisher was big really big, Trevor was good on D, Gasol and ODOM all came up big but they can’t play good D for only three quarters. So they must come with A game for the whole game in Orlando.

Kobe puts in marathon six-hour, six-days-a-week workouts during the offseason. Which is why when somebody asked him before this series began if he has prepared extra hard for these Finals, it was an insult to what he stands for.

“I can’t step up my preparation,” he said, “because I prepare as much as I can all the time.”

Anybody getting paid 20 mil a year for his craft needs the same dedication to it that Kobe has. There are many reasons to not like Kobe, but effort can’t be one of them.
