Must Read Kevin Ding Article on Kobe's Leadership
This is non-negotiable: Every Lakers fan must read this; every Kobe fan must read this. In fact, every Lakers/Kobe hater must read it as well. Why? Because I don't ever want to hear another person claim that Kobe is a poor leader, and I don't ever want to hear it said that he doesn't make his teammates better. Throughout this year, he has done everything for the Lakers – he has been teacher, mentor, coach, leader, director, master, and of course, the best player in the world throughout it all.
Lakers fans, grab this link. Post it on every message board where Kobe's leadership is questioned. Email it to your Kobe-hating friends. Make it a permanent fixture in your arsenal of links to be used in heated Kobe Bryant-related debates.
Go. Read. Now.

Too Short For A Column: 6/15/09
Near as I can tell, there are five reasons most of America finds it impossible to be happy for Kobe Bryant (and why they’re wrong)…
"This is not a game for boys. This is a game for men." - Phil Jackson
I want to know what the shooting program consists of (the one Kobe gave Ariza)
Or is that top secret? I would spend my money on that, instead of the “Better Basketball” DVDs with J.J. Redick!
"This is not a game for boys. This is a game for men." - Phil Jackson
I think that's what Ariza was getting at
This stuff IS top secret. Remember last year, when Kobe said he had figured out some things about leadership, about making teammates better? Steven A. Smith asked him what that was, and he was like, “I ain’t tellin’!” Also, Baron Davis asked him what it takes to get to that extra level, and Kobe wouldn’t share his tricks of the trade.
This shit is top secret, and I think if you reread Trevor’s quotes, you realize that he understood that getting the key to unlock these secrets was no small deal. You and me? We might get some insight into this… a few decades from now!

Awesome post..
I just hope at least now Kobe gets his due for his leadership…man I am extremely happy for Kobe…the guy is a Samurai warrior…KObe fans like Josh says need to post it in every forum available….
i agree. this year kobe has done it all. when they asked him in the espn post game interview, what has he done differently, in terms of his (leadership) role, he said nothing. he lied. he’s been much different this season than ever before. he’s been much more active, much more vocal. he’s shown trust in his teammates. he is the best player in the world, he just proved it (for anyone who doubted it).
Just to play devil's advocate
Here’s an opposing view to the argument by Bill Simmons (see: retarded writer who is the ultimate bobblehead).
I disagree with most, if not all, of his points but since there won’t be any news for awhile, might as well start some debates.
More mindless talk from the Sports Guy.
Seriously, I don’t know how great writers such as David Friedman are being pushed aside for…. whatever it is Bill Simmons does.
