Yao Out for the Season
The series is officially over...
[Ed. Note: This is not how we wanted to win this series. It's really unfortunate for Yao Ming, and for the Rockets, and we sincerely wish them, and Yao in particular, better luck in the future. The man has become a beast, and a real problem that demands solving in the middle. That said, let's not count unhatched chickens, folks. This Rockets team is a team and they play as one. That will be even more so now.]

Could actually help the team
In pushing the tempo, but then again, the Lakers want to play faster, too

Yao being out for the season does not help the Rockets in any way, Gis. That’s like saying that the Lakers losing Kobe helps them because they’d play inside out more often.

That is true
The Lakers would play inside out more often.
That could help them in some way, but they wouldn’t be a better team for losing Kobe.
Maybe I shouldn’t have split the sentence, but what I wrote was that it “could actually help the team in pushing the tempo”.

Ah, gotcha. Dunno if it’s a good idea for the Rockets, though, as you said. We’ll see.

i feel bad for yao ming and for the rockets fans. yao is actually a very likable guy. i like him. he’s a good center. it’s too bad he continues to have health issues. as a basketball fan, i always want to see teams at full strength. i wish the celtics had kevin garnett. i would’ve like yao ming to keep playing. i am lakers fan, but i don’t like playing against teams who are not at full strength. it goes both ways. unfortunately, injuries are a part of sports.
I think it’s the price to pay for his incredible size. Professional basketball just puts too high a toll on his body, especially his bones. It’s a damn shame.

you are absolutely right. his incredible height simply adds a lot of pressure to his feet. the fact he’s actually playing professional basketball is amazing in it of itself. but u add to that his talent, his skills, and that makes him all the more incredible. poor guy. he was apparently throughout the season, but made a valiant effort to stay on the court to prove to everyone that he can get through a full season uninjured. the same goes for the last game. the rockets should’ve forced him to leave the game. his staying in the game even after the injury may have caused further damage, in this case the actual fracture.
I'll give condolences when the series is over.
But I wanted to see Yao back out there tomorrow. Boy, the Rockets could be real good, but they have the damndest luck. I really like Yao. He seems to keep it together for a guy with over a billion people watching his every move. But I will feel better when the series is over. I don’t think these guys will lay down now.
It's starting to look like Bill Walton all over again sadly
Hopefully Yao can get one dominant year and get that ring just like the Ginger Hippie.
