Lakers-Nugs Game 3: 4th Quarter Thread

Well, we're not out of it, but we're not really in it either.  And that little run by Denver at he end of the 3rd certainly didn't help.  If the Lakers can

a) make a damn free throw

b) play just a little defense

c) get Vujacic and his over-pursuant defense off the floor

then we could still win this game that up to this point we really don't deserve to.  Just remember, the Lakers are 112-0 when Kobe dunks and it fouled.  Let's make it 113.

Something I just recently figured out is that the Lakers don't actually use a Point Guard, properly speaking...

The main thing about the triangle offense is you dont really need a real PG

Roy acts as the point guard in the pick and roll sets, Blake plays a lot of off-guard. Blake doesn’t play the pick and roll or feed the post particularly well. He’s a spot-up shooter.

yeah, but the SF makes the post-entry pass and the SG runs the P & R. Blake essentially dribbles the ball every once in a while.

Even if that were true, it would only mirror Game 2.

We got them early. It evened out late. I knew it was going to happen this game. although I thought it was an “evenly” called game.

Even meaning it sucked for most teams.

That is the problem with the NBA though. We expect it to even out. They make it too obvious.

It’s either too much, or too little, then makes decent calls look like make up calls.

+/- means nothing, not tonight.

Fisher was on the floor when Kobe was on, scrambling for some of the Mamba’s table scraps. He did nothing. If there was an individual +/-, Fisher would have set an all-time low tonight.

Credit where it's due

He played good defense on those two inbounds (timeout, then turnover).

I refuse to give Fisher much credit for anything. Before the inbounds, he destroyed us defensively, letting Smith catch fire. I don’t blame him, because he tried his best. I blame Phil, because Shannon Brown should have been in the game. The entire game.

He is killing us offensively though.

My problem is that as a veteran, he is supposed to make good decisions right?

It;s one thing to miss shots, it’s another to make questionable choices. We already have Sasha for that.

Speaking of bad decisions. I;d like to thank Chauncey Billups for quite a few stupid shots that missed and kept us within range when the Pepsi center was ready to explode.

Was it just me...

Or was anyone else extremely frustrated by Fisher’s performance?

Blind devotion.

I was one of the lucky few to be invited to watch Game 5 vs. Denver at Metta World Peace's Private Party. He was very intense watching the game, and it was obvious that it bothered him a lot that he couldn't be there helping his teammates.

This is a video I took of Ron's reaction to Kobe's last shot at the buzzer to tie. Him raising his hands was the happiest I saw him during the whole game. I was hoping to record a great celebration.
