It should be slow for Lakers news over the next few days as we await the Rockets/Blazers series to end. Personally, I'd prefer the Rockets, but Lamar Odom got his wish. Portland won.
Lakers seize the day (off) to look ahead. Also, Bynum will start next series. How will affect Lamar's role?

Celtics win in another overtime game. Of course, what is an NBA game without a officiating controversy? It was a flagrant foul. Rondo had NO shot at the ball. I wonder what Celtics fans think about Rondo's clothesline? Here's Henry Abbott's take.

There's a reason I preferred to play the Jazz over the Mavs in the 1st Round. They look pretty good right now.
The Spurs didn't make it out of the 1st Round. When is the last time that happened? What are they going to do now?

The Magic won. Another controversy. Should Dwight Howard be suspended?
Is Jeremy Tyler even good enough to leave high school and play pro ball in Europe?

Re: Rondo
I don’t blame the player for trying to stop a game-tying bucket at all costs.
It’s the rules and officiating that has to not reward such types of plays, so that players try to stay within the bounds of the spirit of the game.
By not calling a flagrant foul, the NBA and officials are saying it’s OK to stop a player from scoring like that in a last second situation.
Agreed
It’s why I don’t have a problem with flopping to draw the charge, ball fakes and jumping into an airborne player, etc. If it’s something the league allows, a player should use it. He’s a fool not to. If we want something not to happen, don’t blame the player for doing what is allowed by the league. Blame the league for allowing it.
