Around SBN: NFL Roundtable: Which Draft Pick Is Most Likely To Bust?

As the link above shows, Luke Walton and Sasha Vujacic were in the game last night when the Lakers gave away most of their 13-point lead at the beginning of the 4th quater. When is Phil Jackson going to get the memo?

Don't you hate when

Mr. “One Man Full Court Press” Vujacic, helps put us in early foul troble at the beginning of every 2nd and 4th Q with his dumb fouls?

by wondahbap on Apr 24, 2009 12:47 PM PDT reply actions

Yup...

He comes in and immediately throws up crazy shots and plays way too close on his man. Although in his defense, there was a foul called on him in the 4rth quarter where he was screened off the court and they actually called it on sasha rather than on Utah.

My main problem...

with last nights game was that Farmar didn’t get any PT. I know he’s slumping and that Phil likes bigger PG’s but Farmar has given him great production all year and although he hasn’t been the same since his injury, he still gives good minutes with the second unit. I guess I’m jus not sold on Shannon Brown. I don’t understand the argument that brown can play better defense on Deron Williams yet Williams still goes off for 30 something points whenever he wants.

It should be noted

That Deron Williams was decidedly off last night. Dunno if it was Fish and UPS guarding him that did it, but he was held pretty much in check (game winning shot, not withstanding).

Harpring got hot when Luke was defending him. When Luke and Sasha was inserted into the game our lead just diminished

Luke and Sasha are gonna play

We just have to hope the time they play on the court together is limited as much as possible.

I wouldn't even put Sasha in the same category as Luke

Luke is flat out awful. There’s no other way to say it. On the other hand, Sasha at least bring some solid defense. Kyle Korver hates Sasha and not only gets frustrated by him, but tracks him well off the 900,000 screens they set for him. That defense was there in last year’s playoffs and is there this year. The only point Korver has been scoring with Sasha in the game is after rotations in which case Sasha isn’t on him anymore. Sasha also does a solid job coming back to the boards and providing rebounding. I’m not saying Sasha is playing great, but he’s not playing badly. He’s not killing us out there like Luke is. Luke is in a category all to himself.

Amen

The only thing that drives me nuts with Sasha is the dumb fouls, usually putting them in the penalty early. For the life of me, I can’t see Luke having an NBA contract. As his old man should say, “He’s just Awful!”

Luke=Most Frustrating Player in the League

For such a highly touted college player, it has disappointed me to see Luke build an entire career on being that one guy that will never hurt you in a game. He is an excellent passer, but that cannot be the entirety of your came. It can be at most one of two equal parts, but only if your name is Steve Nash and that other part is scoring. Luke has size, strength, and speed, yet he continues to play like he is Earl Boykins. His defense is pathetic, and every fade away, floater, and baby hook that he takes due to lack of aggression makes me want to call up Kupchak and scream for a trade. You can be a utility player in the NBA, but you cannot pass up open jump shots and layups that a high-school kid could make like Luke routinely does.

I just hate how long we have him on contract and how much we’re paying him.

I don't know

because sometimes Luke is on his game and the same for Sasha but if they are gonna come in and not make and mpact I know I would take them out but again Phil wants to see his players make their own adjustment to the game and figure it out on their own. He is that kind of a coach, now me I have little patience for upsets and I like to win and I would only play those who will help me win. The Laker subsitutions at times have drove me crazy and messed up the Lakers flow.

just to correct some mistakes

“and mpact I know I would take them out but again”

“an impact, I know I would take them out but again”

I was one of the lucky few to be invited to watch Game 5 vs. Denver at Metta World Peace's Private Party. He was very intense watching the game, and it was obvious that it bothered him a lot that he couldn't be there helping his teammates.

This is a video I took of Ron's reaction to Kobe's last shot at the buzzer to tie. Him raising his hands was the happiest I saw him during the whole game. I was hoping to record a great celebration.
