Well, don't think this comes as much of a surprise. We all knew what could happen if the Lakers came out flat, which they did. I don't think much analysis is required at this point, it was just a bad all around game.
Here's the box score and recap.
Begin the countdown to game four
Go Purple & Gold!

Sigh
We really need to stop blowing leads and getting complacent when we have the lead….
Andrew has been horrendous this series.
His maturity is very low.
yeah that first foul
Was a head-scratcher

Utah hit all the big shots down the stretch.
If anyone had told me we would hold williams to 3-7 shooting, i would have guaranteed a win. It was strange how he was not looking for his own shot at all.
I know
He passed up that wide open 15 footer, and I was like “whhhaaaat”

Bizarro stat sheet!
All I’ve seen are the highlights and the Boxscore. And it was weird.
Was that Kobe’s worst shooting night ever?
Is Lamar Odom (been doing well for awhile, except for the fouls) the Laker’s best player?
Did you all feel like the Jazz got a pass from the refs (I know you feel like the Lakers have the talent and the plans to win even when the refs are killing them, so it’s not an excuse)?
Honestly, as an outsider I feel like this game is worrying for the Lakers, but reinforces that the Jazz have no chance at all:
Will Kobe shoot so poorly for the rest of the entire playoffs? Probably not.
Will Pau and baby Bynum adjust for next game (with Coach’s help)? I think so.
Will Odom go back to normal? It seems like he’s been a changed man on offense for awhile, the Lakers most efficient option on offense throughout this series. I don’t see why it would slow.
It still sucks for the Lakers that the Jazz are getting so much on you, but a Sloan team always puts up a fight, right?
The WCF and the championship round may end up being the easiest series for the Lakers (obviously they’ve shined at that level so far this season).
Well, you didn’t lose like the Spurs…
Another eye opener
Lakers had there chances and they blew it and they better hope this game or this series doesn’t bit them in the butt. Even with the lose I have to say game four is ours and Bynum has to be the one who is dominating the paint on both ends so if he plays a full game 4 Lakers win. I think thats was the big differences tonight besides Kobe’s misses.
Amazing
Kobe goes 5-24
Pau goes 4-10 from the FT line
Bynum plays only 7 minutes w/ foul trouble
If any one of these three things doesn’t happen, the Lakers win this game.
The Lakers got killed on the glass, Utah had far more assists, Utah shot almost 10% better from the field, and yet it took a buzzer beater for the Jazz to win.
There’s no way the Lakers lose Game 4. That was Utah’s best shot, and really it wasn’t very good. If the Lakers didn’t lay such an egg they’d have won anyway, and won rather handily.
Give credit where credit is due
The Lakers may very well go on to take the series, but don’t make excuses for why they lost. You could easily say the following about the Jazz:
If Deron Williams misses 5 FTs
Deron has only 13 points
Odom has 21 & 14
If any one of those things don’t happen, the Jazz win by a lot more.
The Jazz worked the Lakers on boards, played great D on Kobe, take a look at his shot chart, and couldn’t stop Boozer once Brewer was moved to the other side of the court so that Kobe couldn’t hang out in the paint.
Truth is, if either one of the teams plays decent on offense, they would have blown the other team out. As it is, both played an ugly game and the Jazz used their home-court advantage to pull it out.
It was an aberration for both teams and most players. Game 4 will be a lot higher scoring but will be close again.

The credit goes to the Lakers players as group for playing poorly relative to their standards
And the Jazz players as a group playing well relative to their standards.
This is not an excuse. It’s an explanation.
If the Jazz play poorly, and the Lakers play poorly, more times than not, the Lakers will win.
If the Jazz play poorly, and the Lakers play well, the Lakers will win.
If the Jazz play well, and the Lakers play well, more times than not, the Lakers will win.

Left out one more scenario
If the Jazz play well, and the Lakers play poorly, more time than not, the Jazz will win.

Utah didn't beat us, we gave it to them.
Despite the ugly play, I’m not too upset about this loss. Sure, had we made a few more free throws, this would have been a hard fought victory instead with the Lakers taking a commanding 3-0 series lead. But I am a Lakers optimist, and I like our chances for Game 4 on Saturday.
I would say that's accurate. That was a stinker of a Lakers game...
…………………………. Problem is, it follows two decent HALF games. Not exactly what Dr. Phil ordered…
Pontiff of the Pryz for Prez Posse...
Hey, at least you didn’t lose by 21 and score 67 points!
