You guys certainly have our number at the Rose Garden — I’ll give you that — but it’s a whole different ballgame come playoff time. With a healthy Andrew Bynum and 48 minutes of playing DEFENSE, I think the Lakers could win a game in Portland in the playoffs. The latter part of the equation is a tough request for this team, though.

What happened the game after that?
I can go on like this for 82 games.
So far for Portland, the answer has been “they lost” more times than you would say for the Lakers.

The Media
is in love with Bynum’s offense and is claiming he is back just based on the 15-20 points he has put up in the last three games. While it’s great to see that he has not lost most of his offensive timing, his shots have not been all that difficult and I haven’t really seen him work for one yet.
Lakers fans know that Bynum’s real impact is in rebounding and defense, and they also know by watching him that he still has a way to go to return to his old form in these areas. Even Bynum said that he is only 80% or so. The 15 points per game is nice, but the Lakers have plenty of scorers and if they are going to roll through the playoffs, they need the 15 point, 15 rebound, 2 block Bynum back.
