Where is Luke Walton when you need him? Plus, Kobe played a ton of minutes last night so

who knows how he’ll be tonight. We may see Vujacic at SF which sucks. Get well soon, Walton. Get well soon.

I think we'll see more Josh Powell in this game since Artest is out. I wonder who is

going to start at SF. My guess: Kobe. They put Brown in at the two. Vujacic hit a couple of jumpers during garbage time against the Cavs, so maybe Phil gives him some run tonight.

I think you are right.

I just want to see effort. That is all. Even if they loose I want to see Bynum for once go after the ball the same way he demands it in the post on the offensive end.

I know a lot of you love Bynum as I do But!

C’mon! He attrocious on the boards and defensively. How the fuck do you get 4 points and six rebounds in 26 minutes? He has promise but his ass needs to get going on the boards.

Also, I don’t care about the refs and their calls. That is so meaningless. Refs don’t effect effort. Yes the calls were bad but we can’t hold the refs more responsible than our very own team. If the Lakers are a title contender then we need to start holding them accountable for the bench and Bynum’s lack of effort. We have go to stop blaming refs. I have so much faith in this team but if any of you saw the Celtics game you will see that they didn’t have PP and KG was hurt and theyir hustle on defense is what makes that team go and if this team doesn’t get a grip and Bynum doesn’t pull his weight then don’t be surprised at the results come June. One thing is to blow out the teams they are supposed to and another is to not even make it competitive against a team the Lakers might see in the Finals.

Lakers still get complacent

We roll and roll and we think were unstoppable. I expect this game to light a fire in our bellies like the Dallas game did to start the year. Lakers think they are the best and think that all games will pretty much get handed to them. Most of the time, we can play crappy and still win, not against a driven Cavs team on Christmas. No need to panic at all, this is one game, we blow the Cavs out in a 7 game series.

As for Bynum, I am very disappointed. I was expecting Drew to own Shaq but it was definitely the other way around. The most frustrating thing about Drew is we’ve all seen the way he can play. If we exudes maximum effort every game, he’s a 15 and 15 guy easy. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt for now since he’s “sick” but if he’s playing like this in April, I’m going to be off the Bynum bandwagon.

Tonight’s game should be interesting. Kings Lakers is always a good one in Sacramento (even when they suck) and it should be especially good tonight with Tyreke Evans and the Kings playing decent. I’m going to the Lakers Kings game on New Years Day so I’m hoping something exciting happens tonight. I expect Lamar to pick up the slack in Artest’s absence.

defenitely agree that it's just one game

I will never loose faith in this team. But I’m tired of Bynum’s lack of effort. Since Pau has come back and Bynum stopped getting less touches his production defensively has dropped off.

I am really looking forward to a win to get this bad taste out of my mouth. I’m going to the Houston Rockets game on Jan 5th. Want to see Ariza.

i knew we would regret it...

when bynum fired Kareem as his mentor, it was nowhere to go but down for bynum. i’ve stated before, bynum plays like he’s entitled to be our center. he needs to play like he’s earned the right to be our center.
for those questioning whether shaqs number gets retired for LA, hang your heads in shame. for look what he has done to your mighty andrew bynum. talk about boys to men and apples to oranges. i’m glad this shit happened, for it promises roster changes. i for one pray bynum is out of here. this is not a one game fluke. andrews numbers have been pathetic at best the last 4 or 5 games. FUCKING CARL " 6’6" " LANDRY gets better stats as an NBA center!!!!!!

Thank you

This is what I have been saying all along but as I said before some don’t agree and continue to make excuses for him. Good point about Carl Landry. That is ridiculous.

Dude

Andrew Bynum is still what, 22 years old. Give the kid a break. You say “andrews numbers have been pathetic at best the last 4 or 5 games.” You’re telling me you never have a bad week at work, when you’re sick too. Most people stay home from work. Like I said, if Andrew is still playing like this in April, I’ll have some concern but lets give him a break. I have faith that he’ll snap out of it.

so, lets wait 'til April...

to hell with his production? you don’t make excuses for age when you wear the ring. this is LA. we don’t wait to see if it gets better, we make it better. if he was old enough to feel he’s learned all he could from Kareem, he’s old enough to show up against the competition. wasn’t Kobe out training with Hakeem this off-season? what was AB doing, for he was not in that session trying to be a better player at his position.

Hugely concerning loss

It looks like that Shaq acquisition is gonna pay dividends for the Cavs against teams like the Lakers and other playoff teams. His 38-year-old ass made all our big guys look paper soft. It was like watching a replay of Game 4 (or Game 6) of the 08 Finals. And our bench is shit. Theres no other way around it. They suck ballz, at least if you compare them to the other condendors bench. We HAVE TO make a trade or no title. And shut the fuck up if you dont think that cuz you know its true. Our bench has sucked all year and its not gonna get better. And the Lakers cant shoot for jack SHIT. If you cant make outside shots, you wont win a title, PERIOD.

by desecrator09 on Dec 26, 2009 11:44 AM PST reply actions   0 recs

I don't believe that shaq's game is going to pay that much

Our bigs haven’t been that aggressive. Sadly it took a 38 year old Shaq to show us that. Kobe was getting hacked by shaq while the bigs were settling for shots outside the paint.

by Madz on Dec 26, 2009 2:20 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

ya they were settling BECAUSE OF SHAQ

he was roughing them up in the paint and it scared them so they settled for perimeter shots

by desecrator09 on Dec 26, 2009 2:39 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

It was amazing how well Shaq defended our bigs

If his old, fat ass is gonna defend us this well, then we’re in some deep shit if we have to play the Celtics.

Actually, I'm not very confident we're gonna get that far anyways

Denver is alot better than last year and it looks like we aint as good.

look past the record

we cant seem to win against the great teams which we’ll play in the playoffs. We aint gonna be feasting on trash teams like we have so far this year. And its not like we’ve just lost by a couple against the elite teams, we’ve gotten FUCKING DESTROYED!! And Bynum disappears when he’s matched up with someone just as big as him.

by desecrator09 on Dec 26, 2009 12:05 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

And by the way if we win today, dont let that get you too excited

Just cuz we beat a shitty team like we’re supposed to doesnt mean we’re back on track. We cant seem to beat the elite teams this year, like we did last year. As frustrating as it is for us fans, I’d much rather have a team like last years, where we lost to some shit teams but always played great against the elite teams, not the other way around like it is this year where we resemble last year’s Cavs. And its time to trade Bynum’s loser ass while his value is still high. If he got dominated by a Shaq who’s about 20% of his former self, then its time to give it up. He’s trash. Sorry :(

Heres a new mix I made.

Kobe hasnt always been known as a clutch player. In game 5 of the 1997 Eastern Conference Semifinals, he missed a shot to win the game in the 4th quarter and 2 three-pointers to tie the game in the last minute of overtime, all of the shots being airballs. With that the Utah Jazz ended the playoffs for the Lakers in the 2nd round. Shaquille O'Neal commented years later that "Kobe was the only guy who had the guts at the time to take shots like that."

Ever since that horrible experience in his rookie year, Kobe has worked harder and has learned how to make those shots with the game on the line. This vid features some lines from Carmelo Anthony's Become Legendary commercial as well as some of Kobe's recent gamewinners.

Enjoy!
Kobe Game Winner vs Raptors - Whoa, I watched this and then I read the comments on Youtube claiming Kobe travelled, which I had not heard of. Then, after watching a few times, I have to say, I agree, Kobe changes his pivot foot before putting the ball down on the floor. I also think there's no way a ref catches that in real time, and even if they do, they can't be sure enough to call it then, either.
