It's amazing the coverage that anything Lakers related gets

Phil’s comments are all over the internet on every site. Phil is such a master of answering media questions and he always leaves the media with even more questions because he does or doesn’t committ to anything. Now the media is trying to break down his comments to try and speculate that he isn’t happy with Buss’ son and blah…blah…blah. I found this other article in hoopshype about Phil not coming back next year.

Bunch of BS

Didn’t even read the article and don’t have any idea about the comments but I can assure you its probably absolutely nothing. Phil always says ridiculous stuff. They don’t call him the zen master for nada.

yep

He’s not always right, but he’s not a bobblehead in the vein of Adande, Plaschke, Simmons …

lazenby's article made complete sense.

it did not seem idle speculation, but good reporting from someone who knows his subject

When it's someone credible

it’s kind of hard to at least not read it.

It's an excellent piece

It has less to do with Phil than with internal conflicts in the Buss family. People should read it.

The ESPN Los Angeles stuff on Kobe

is killing all my time today!

Love this quote from Antonio McDyess:

“He’s a lot more aggressive now. It’s like he knows now that he can’t be stopped. He’s so much more aggressive now, and what can you do? He’s got you on your heels at all times. Earlier in his career, he was kind of thinking about, okay, I’m gonna get my shot off, but now he thinks the game. He gets everyone involved, and he’s also scoring. Before, he may have thought he was the best… now he knows.”

That is so “The Matrix”.

Anyone who is a Laker fan has to visit ESPNlosangeles.com

I have no problem admitting that I got chocked up reading JA Adande’s article on Kobe. It really speaks from a fan’s perspective because my biggest joy of the last title was that it was Kobe’s final exclamation on his way to redemption. As a fan that is what made me proud to be a Lakers and a Kobe Bryant fan.

Michael Jordan once said the quality Bryant possessed that reminded him most of himself was the desire to distance himself from contemporaries.

Don't worry JA will change his mind

As soon as the Lakers start losing.

Don’t get too up by these writers’ praise, just as you shouldn’t get too down by their criticism.

It's not his praise that got to me

I take comments on any writer good or bad with a grain of salt. But you are right though. What got to me was that I kept picturing kobe in his last game and that is when he will be appreciated for what he has done for this game. It is his return after falling from grace that i’m most proud of. Dam! I always watch his past games and if anything Shaq overshadowed how great kobe was, is and always will be in my mind. People kill me for saying this but Kobe was equally responsible as Shaq was and even more in the many clutch moments he had to carry the team while Shaq’s poor free throw shooting kept him on the bench. Look back at all those highlights and see who is coming off the bench to greet Kobe everytime he came through in the clutch…Shaq!

For those who don't know how much Kobe appreciates Gasol

again, from ESPN LA , here’s what Kobe told Magic Johnson:

Kobe was also effusive in his praise of Pau Gasol, and explained both why the big Spaniard is such a brutal cover, and why his addition has helped his game:

“He’s clearly one of the best basketball players in the world. Clearly. In my opinion, he’s the best post player in the game. Left hand, right hand, fadeaway, jump hook, he’ll give you everything. But yet he still seems to be under-rated. I think the people that play against him, and have to match up with him, they know what time it is… It makes my life a lot easier, because we have another threat on the floor that you have to pay attention to, that you have to double team. And when you have that, it puts so much pressure on the defense. And we can run a two man game, and that’s how we compliment each other so well, because he can stretch the floor, too. So when it’s a crucial situation and he and I run the screen and roll, it’s a tough matchup.”
