Which 2 current Lakers would you choose?

This is my first time so be gentle, i am gonna keep it short and sweet. I was watching the laker game last night at a friends house and he brought up a question that i found quite interesting:

If you could choose any 2 current lakers to start a team who would you pick and why?

I would go with Kobe and Gasol. Put those two on any team and you have an immediate contender. You have veteran leadership, two players in their prime and who just so happen to be 2 of the best players at their positions. Those 2 are just a killer inside out game.

Update: A better question was posed by PurpleandGold, which two lakers not named Kobe or Gasol would you pick?

To answer that question i would say farmar and Bynum. They have good chemistry and Farmar would look for the lob alot a la CP3 and Chandler.

dam!

he is be gentle..lol!

I think smashing the Suns made me realize how far Kobe and the Lakers have come from five years ago, when the Suns had the world at their feet.

ease up a little Dex

even I winced there, but give it time to see if it escalates, then proceed.
I’m all for being proper, but let us not go too tight. Even the true_lakerfan took it good-naturedly

If it was any player not name Pau or Kobe

I would go with LO and Bynum. LO is a very unique player and although he is no Pippen just like him they are both very unique players. And Bynum, because I do believe that a great team or a contender always starts with inside precense whether it’s a low post game or defensively.

That's a more interesting question

I might take Artest and Bynum. LO has proven he’s not the type of guy you can really build a team around and he doesn’t give the consistent effort that Ron does. LO is definitely more of a versatile guy and on any given night he can outperform Ron, but Ron hits the three better, defends smarter and harder, and will give you what you expect from him on a night to night basis.

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist.

ditto

artesto and bynumite

Leave Chad Billingsley alone!!!

pretty much

what I was going to say. A good point guard to run a system with artest and bynum can be the start of a good team.

it depends are we talking for just one season? or for a whole franchise

I think gasol in the duo reguardless, but for just this season i’ll go with kobe. But if im building for the future I’m sure alot of people will go with the twin towers of bynum and gasol.

I however will stick with kobe and gasol in both scenarios. these two are good enough and will be good enough to win titles for at least the next 3 years. 3 years of being in the finals in a row is pretty darn enticing considering, with bynum and gasol there isnt that inside out aspect, and ill take 3 years of being in the finals over 6 years of being a good team that gets to the 2nd round and CF.

In Kobe we trust!

yesssss!

How come I didn’t think of this?

by altree on Dec 3, 2009 10:31 PM PST up reply actions

i would take bynum and artest if i couldnt pick kobe or gasol because artest could score when he wants sometimes and bynum is a dominent center on offense..he is a decent defender wish he could get some more boards but id still pick him and artest can defend..

If i were starting a franchise i would pick kobe and bynum because bynum is young and is to be an all star for years to come.and kobe is just sick with it so yea

Of course Kobe and Gasol for the first question but my second picks would be Shannon and Bynum for the second question

There are basic Fundamentals that are needed to move forward in this game. Always keep your guard up at all times to avoid being caught in a trap. Overcome the fouls that will be commited against you REBOUND AND PRESS ON. ADJUST to the LimeLight: ALL-STAR PLAYERS ARE ALWAYS THE CENTER OF ATTENTION. Know what your role is and play your position. Find a game plan and execute it. REMEMBER YOU ONLY GET OUT OF THE GAME WHAT YOU PUT INTO IT.
