Around SBN: College Football Preseason Top 25 Rankings

The Credits: Thursday

Sorry guys — Wondahbap's computer is on the fritz, so no clever movie title to personify your Credits today. Hey, I never claimed to be the creative one in these parts. On to the links, which start with this new MVPuppets clip (which intro'd today's Daily Dime TV):

And now, some links:

From Truehoop: “Can you find examples of Dwyane Wade, LeBron James or Kobe Bryant getting whistled for offensive fouls with the ball on the way to the hoop with the game on the line?”

Yes. I just don’t have Synergy, or any of those fancy tools at my disposal, but Kobe has been called for charging in a few key situations, if my memory serves me.

Great breakdown of design of last shot by Kevin Ding

http://www.ocregister.com/sports/phil-224593-kobe-started.html

Kobe initially thought Phil was crazy for not passing the ball into the front court, instead opting to have the ball inbounded in the backcourt, to dissuade a quick double team on Kobe. Kobe thought about it for two seconds, then realized what Phil was up to. It worked.

I can tell you the design of the last shot without reading that article....

Kobe: What’s the play Phil?

Phil: Um, let’s try this…..Kobe, you do exactly what you did earlier except this time MAKE THE FUCKING SHOT.

Kobe: OK

Billy Mac: "Lamar, can you see yourself actually getting in the (boxing) ring"?
Lamar Odom: "No. My face is too pretty."

he structured the play the same way

as in game 4 of last years finals and game of the 1991 finals
his strategy was to not allow the defense to set up in a fixed area.
by passing it in from the backcourt, we can kick it out to someone on the other side of the court and cause the defense to scramble and get caught off guard.
