Lakers-Hornets Game Thread

New Orleans Hornets at Los Angeles Lakers, Nov 8, 2009 6:30 PM PST

As the saying goes, there's nothing in sports like a Game Seven.

True, we're the only ones ever to bust out that cliche for the seventh game of the NBA regular season, but that's just the kind of can-do innovation that's made Silver Screen and Roll the website all the cool kids are talking about.

Think you're cool enough to hang out in our open thread? Prove it, and maybe we'll let you sit with us at lunch tomorrow.

going to contain CP3. Plus, Kobe’s gotta pick up the scoring load for the Lakers.

There are basic Fundamentals that are needed to move forward in this game. Always keep your guard up at all times to avoid being caught in a trap. Overcome the fouls that will be commited against you REBOUND AND PRESS ON. ADJUST to the LimeLight: ALL-STAR PLAYERS ARE ALWAYS THE CENTER OF ATTENTION. Know what your role is and play your position. Find a game plan and execute it. REMEMBER YOU ONLY GET OUT OF THE GAME WHAT YOU PUT INTO IT.

There are basic Fundamentals that are needed to move forward in this game. Always keep your guard up at all times to avoid being caught in a trap. The thing about Kobe's zero rebounds

is that at least a couple of his trips to the free-throw line came when he was fouled getting position for an offensive board. That doesn’t go into the books as a rebound, but it doesn’t mean he’s not making the effort.

I'm not worried about his stats

His game has been perfection.

His shots have been well chosen, he’s been a beast in the post, and has created havoc in the paint, even if he hasn’t gotten rebounds. His stat line may not reflected, but his game has been exactly what we’ve needed at every turn, and then some more.

Any chance that DJ's defense and rebounding inspires Andrew to come back inspired to play team ball and good defense?

Or is the guy still going to try to average 20+ so he can make the all-star team (because hes a laker).

nite

they should win anyway

There are basic Fundamentals that are needed to move forward in this game. Always keep your guard up at all times to avoid being caught in a trap. Overcome the fouls that will be commited against you REBOUND AND PRESS ON. ADJUST to the LimeLight: ALL-STAR PLAYERS ARE ALWAYS THE CENTER OF ATTENTION. Know what your role is and play your position. Find a game plan and execute it. REMEMBER YOU ONLY GET OUT OF THE GAME WHAT YOU PUT INTO IT.

What a game!

Won’t mind having a few more like that.

Tell y’all what… we may have started a bit slow, because we were still figuring out how to fit everything together, and suffering a bit from championship hangover. But damn — when Bynum and Pau get back, we’re gonna be a helluva strong team.

My sentiments exactly.

Except the “what a game” part. Since I didn’t actually watch the game, I will have to take your word for it.

I'm here to talk about the past.
