Bynum, Gasol Injury Updates

As of Thursday evening, here's what we know, thanks to Mike Trudell of NBA.com and Mike Bresnahan of the LA Times.

Andrew Bynum has a strained right elbow. A strain, which affects muscle tissue, is less serious than a sprain, which affects cartilage or ligaments, so this is good news. He is officially day-to-day (old joke: aren't we all?), but it sounds very doubtful that he'll play Friday night against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Pau Gasol continues his recovery from a strained right hamstring. He went through almost a full practice Thursday, participating in everything except contact activities. Pau says that he feels good but is "very doubtful" for the Memphis game. It sounds like Sunday night's game, at home against the New Orleans Hornets, is his likely return.

Phil Jackson has not announced how he would rework the lineup with both Bynum and Gasol out, but clearly we should expect more DJ Mbenga and Josh Powell

well ...

at least we dont have to worry about bynum getting hurt while playing the grizzlies ahaha
we should be ok
starters have to carry the load since bynum has been producing alot in pau’s absence…the bench needs to contribute as well…their production last couple of games just wont cut it…

i really wonder how we are going to score 90 points tomorrow...

i know the griz will score at least 90…

35 from kobe.. 20 from artest… Lamar is always a question mark.. and 20 from everyone else..

lamar is always the wild card in this team… if he scores 20 tomorrow i bet we win..

Oh well, one more reason to get sauced during tonight’s game.

Now let’s see. Where did I put my “Mbanging with Mbenga” shirt?
