One thing that I hope the Lakers learn this season
Every team that comes to play the Lakers at home or anywhere for that matter will be gunning for them. Not just because they are the Lakers but the target on their back just got bigger after winning the title. Something that only Fisher and Kobe have experienced. Teams like Oklahoma will bring their A game. That is the reality check that I hope the spanking by Dallas tought them.

Teams usually bring their A game for the Lakers anyway...
Having won the title is actually probably HELPFUL, I would argue, since it will contribute to teams subconsciously surrendering when in the course of the normal back-and-forth of an NBA game they fall behind.
The really dangerous teams are the handful that aren’t afraid.

This is something you REALLY don't want to hear from a punch-pulling beat reporter... (OC Register)
I am not forecasting the end of Derek Fisher’s wonderfully productive Lakers career, or even suggesting his skills are diminishing.
He might’ve missed a few more shots in a short sample this season, but he otherwise looks pretty good to me.
But Fisher is a 35-year-old NBA point guard. That’s old, especially for his position. He needs to be preserved, like a national treasure, during the regular season, so he can contribute his leadership, knowledge and hustle during the playoffs.

Is it just me or has the NBA scheduled a LOT of back to backs for every team?
It just seems like there are more than usual. if so, no doubt the “economic” crunch had the schedule makers help team save money hotel accommodations.
Kobe questionable for tonight
Has flu like symptoms.
