how's it goin'?

Star-divide

Hello people of Silver Screen and Roll,  My screen name is southman outta Chattanooga Tn. First of all I just want to say it's awesome to be here. I've got a few questions of oppin of the Hawks beside the fact that you guys beat us in L.A. closely.  What do you think of us? are we good to you? not? so so? I need to know! and You're welcome because we beat the celtics in boston tonight and we beat some of your rivals. oh, and do you guys like us at some points? speaking of the celtics, this will make your gut burst and prepare to jump up laughing. When they were formed they were almost called THE UNICORNS!!!!!! LOL ;-) and do you guys think we're better fans than the clippers or boston or denver?

Maybe the Clippers...
do you guys think we’re better fans than the clippers or boston or denver?

Actually, the emptiness in Atlanta is pretty embarrassing, given what an athletic and exciting team the Hawks are (the Blazers of the East).

The Blazers of the West owe you a home loss, by the way, looking forward to that next week.

Thanks for beating the Celtics from the entire NBA!

xoxo,

well, thats probably because

with the exception of Georgia Tech winning a national title long before the BCS, the only big championship Atlanta has won was the world series against the Indians and every other big name title we have been to we have lost but you’d be suprised that we can be better when any Atlanta team comes to the super bowl, or the NBA title game, or the world series

I consider you guys a top 4 team in the east

maybe top 8-10 in the league,

i can see them being a strong contender in the east in a few years...

theyre a very exciting and athletic team, and joe johnsons an excellent leader
by then the celtics will be at the retirement home, watching the price is right….

Leave Chad Billingsley alone!!!

Mike Woodson

I kinda feel like he’s holding the Hawks back, but then again, he’s improved the record every year he’s been there so it seems to bring a dilemma for you guys. Then again, it’s not really desirable to wait for the team to under perform and possibly lose pieces before bringing in a coach to take you to the next level. Al Horford’s really good, but not sure how he would match up with a true center in a 7 game series.

The Hawks are pretty legitimate

Their starting five is rock solid and the bench has improved significantly. It’s testament to how far they’ve come that a veteran role player like Joe Smith, who normally would go to a contender, has latched on with the Hawks. My only quibble with this group is the lack of a real post scorer; Horford is decent, but his post game is relatively mechanical, and neither Smith or Pachulia is getting buckets in the paint off post moves. That said, the biggest thing that has slowed down the Hawks in recent years is putting too much responsibilities on Johnson on both ends, as he often has to make up for Bibby’s defensive failings. Adding Crawford helps in this regard, but it will be interesting to see whether Woodson manages Johnson’s minutes right now.

As far as my liking for this team goes, they do try really hard every game, and the seven-game series they gave Boston in ’08 and every subsequent matchup are must-see. Fun, fun stuff.

To secure ourselves against defeat lies in our own hands, but the opportunity of defeating the enemy is provided by the enemy himself.

it's too bad we lost that series

we almost shocked the world but it wasn’t ment to be. I know a guy who thinks that we only beat Boston the other night was that they were having a bad day well say that to us and the pacers who also beat them last night

Hawks are a distant 4th in the East

It’s actually kind of dull in the East this year because of it. The top 3 seeds are decided barring injury to Howard/Lebron. (Boston could probably deal with 1 guy being down at any time.)

Yes, I know Atlanta leads the East right now, but meh, it’s 10 games. In 10 games…
-Kings can play .500 ball
-Suns can be leading the West
-Bucks can be a top 4 seed in the East (okay they’ve played 7)
-The Southwest division can be one of the weaker division in the NBA.

I’d love to be wrong. The Hawks being a legit threat to the top 3 would be completely awesome and spice things up… but for now, yawns!

Still looking forward to the game vs Portland though. A 5-0 road trip would be great, but the Hawks are definitely not an easy way to end the trip.

Poster for next year? I'm thinking My Little Pony.

we are a threat to them

but they still underestimate us too much espiecially Cleveland because with the help of LeBron they swept us in the playoffs and every one called us a “tomato can” afterwards and now they have Shaq. but we didn’t have a deep bench but now we do Boston had to learn the hard way Orlando is next Miami already knows we are dangerous LeBron better watch out, the Hawks are back and better than ever. We already beat the trail blazers at Portland which happens to be the loudest stadium in the NBA and a sellout croud in Boston so that should say something to everyone

OK maybe not

but, there’s still boston that’s even better

In light of the team's final trip up north for the season. I thought we go down memory lane to look back at a classic game against the Warriors in Oakland. The day was April 20, 1999, yes the day of Columbine Massacre. Also, has anyone noticed that we have had a lot of classic games against the Warriors even though we have always assembled better teams than they did.?

Heres a new mix I made.

Kobe hasnt always been known as a clutch player. In game 5 of the 1997 Eastern Conference Semifinals, he missed a shot to win the game in the 4th quarter and 2 three-pointers to tie the game in the last minute of overtime, all of the shots being airballs. With that the Utah Jazz ended the playoffs for the Lakers in the 2nd round. Shaquille O'Neal commented years later that "Kobe was the only guy who had the guts at the time to take shots like that."

Ever since that horrible experience in his rookie year, Kobe has worked harder and has learned how to make those shots with the game on the line. This vid features some lines from Carmelo Anthony's Become Legendary commercial as well as some of Kobe's recent gamewinners.

Enjoy!
Kobe Game Winner vs Raptors - Whoa, I watched this and then I read the comments on Youtube claiming Kobe travelled, which I had not heard of. Then, after watching a few times, I have to say, I agree, Kobe changes his pivot foot before putting the ball down on the floor. I also think there's no way a ref catches that in real time, and even if they do, they can't be sure enough to call it then, either.
