Already Facing Serious Trouble in the Young Season...

Im just going to flat out say it; our beloved Lakers are in trouble. im usually not one to panic but there is absolutely no way to sugar coat it. Now i know we are only 2 games into the season and still out Gasol but the pounding my lakers took from the mavs tonight has me uneasy. our new addition Artest obviously spent too much of his summer rapping and doing God knows what else. his shot is way off, in fact he rivals Sasha for having a worse shooting slump. speaking about the bench, its pretty dang slim. Shannon seems to be the most consistent and Lamar should boost the bench when Gasol comes back but still; Luke?, Farmar?, Sasha? Mbenga! Not reliable at all. so those are my two biggest concerns, Ron Ron and the Bench. here is my solution. its actually quite simple, Trade Sasha and Mbenga for a reliable, sharp shooting, athletic slasher around 6'5 or 6'6 to come off the bench. we have til the deadline which is???? pretty far away actually. Get on it Mitch...

Panic... already?!

That’s too funny.. Why doesn’t your team go 10-0 like mine. Its looks pretty easy from what I see

I probably know Judo! How many of you can make the same boast?

Counting preseason games, I see!

Maybe you should include the last 6 games before that, too …

Troll?

I have never seen you post on here before, but such blasphemy wouldn’t come from the truest of laker fans. It’s earlier in the season, and b) no gasol. Sure it woulda been nice to win tonite, but by no means am i worried.

Games like this are gonna happen. The Mavs are a very talented team, and we were without a very important piece of our team in Pau.

Pretty much everything you said screams the sky is falling.

yep true

but we had an important piece as well in Howard missing. I am a Mavs fan who has been reading other teams blogs for years. If I was a Laker fan I wouldn’t worry about 1 game. Yes the Mavs played better but they have to with all the new players and also get better as the season goes along. The Mavs have to get better big time to be in the same sentance as your Lakers. The Lakers will be fine and will be a top western team. Its basically the same team as last year but with a bit more experiance and defense mided with Artest. Just think of it this way, the west is talented with alot of good teams. The season will be fun again just like its been for the past 8 or 10 years. Good luck the rest of the way!!

Go Mavs!

RA37thriller

One hand worrying so much could be a sign of someone who really cares a lot about the Lakers and can be seeing as passionate but as you can see from the responses there is no need to get all Chicken Little on us…the Lakers will be ok.

This post is nonsense.

Pay not attention to it. Most likley it’s some troll who roots for another team who just signed up with this name on SBN 10/30/09 just so he could post garbage.

What, you think someone using the name "R[on]A[rtest]37Thriller" criticizing Ron Artest's game might be a troll?!?!?

Imagine that!

nah

some people are just worry worts and extremely pessimistic.

whether the poster or genuine or not doesn’t matter. i’d rather tolerate “imposter” than insult a genuine fan :). i’d give him the benefit of the doubt

dont speak too soon my friends

awww come on yall!! Read the post title YOUNG SEASON! there is still plenty of time for growth, the chemistry is a little bit off. i know artest is only one guy but he has personality that a lot of people have a hard time getting accustomed too. Hence the reason he has bounced around the league for so long. with all the leadership and talent on that team artest will soon come to realize he doesn’t have to be the “go to guy” anymore. Patience is a virtue and im not giving up this soon, i have faith so should you.

In light of the team's final trip up north for the season. I thought we go down memory lane to look back at a classic game against the Warriors in Oakland. The day was April 20, 1999, yes the day of Columbine Massacre. Also, has anyone noticed that we have had a lot of classic games against the Warriors even though we have always assembled better teams than they did.?

Heres a new mix I made.

Kobe hasnt always been known as a clutch player. In game 5 of the 1997 Eastern Conference Semifinals, he missed a shot to win the game in the 4th quarter and 2 three-pointers to tie the game in the last minute of overtime, all of the shots being airballs. With that the Utah Jazz ended the playoffs for the Lakers in the 2nd round. Shaquille O'Neal commented years later that "Kobe was the only guy who had the guts at the time to take shots like that."

Ever since that horrible experience in his rookie year, Kobe has worked harder and has learned how to make those shots with the game on the line. This vid features some lines from Carmelo Anthony's Become Legendary commercial as well as some of Kobe's recent gamewinners.

Enjoy!
Kobe Game Winner vs Raptors - Whoa, I watched this and then I read the comments on Youtube claiming Kobe travelled, which I had not heard of. Then, after watching a few times, I have to say, I agree, Kobe changes his pivot foot before putting the ball down on the floor. I also think there's no way a ref catches that in real time, and even if they do, they can't be sure enough to call it then, either.
