LeBron's future hangs over Cavs' slow start - NBA - Yahoo! Sports
(I know it's only two games into the season, but I'm worried if I'm a Cavs fan. This has to work and any or eveything that goes wrong is multiplied because of LeBron's impending free agency. Think about it like this, every lead the Lakers blew last year was magnified because of Game 4 on the 2008 Finals. It seemed worse than it was. Same thing because of the Cavs' crushing defeat in the ECF. They were soul searching after losing to the Magic and it doesn't look like like anything has changed. It's comical watching Shaq hesitantly come out to set a high pick for LBJ beyond the 3-pt line. It's like he remembers 14 seconds into the shot clock. Real smart. Set the pick with the guy you need to rebound a miss. Over and over again. Add that to the fact that Shaq is sure to grumble on a team faltering. He's the guy with 4 Rings. You don't think he'll chime in with his opinion on how to fix "problems." Many "experts" and NBA followers questioned the Shaq addition, and if it doesn't work then what? The Cavs are back at the start with every other team who might pursue LeBron. And the grass always looks greener on the other side. Now, supposedly the Cavs are interested in trading for Stephen Jackson, and the 3-4 years left in his contract? When they are trying to make sure they have flexibility in re-signing LeBron. If that's not desperate, what is? The Nets impending sale changed things. They're back in the hunt. I expect the Cavs to come around, but if they continue to falter, this thing will spiral faster than it should because of the pressure.) - Months Later, Rip Gets Iverson's Back - Bethlehem Shoals - The Baseline - Sporting News

Lion Face: DEJUAN BLAIR I’m a fool. I foolishly tried to defend the decision of 29 NBA GMs, thinking that yes, some of them were morons, but surely there was some valid reason not to grab the kid. I erroneously called out 48 Minutes of Hell yesterday about talking about ROY votes. I wanted to see if he would even get minutes, if he would be able to keep it together against actual regular season competition. And it’s possible his knees could fall off tomorrow. But you look at his college career. You look at his training camp. You look at his preseason, and you look at tonight, 14 points on 7-10 shooting in 22 minutes, with 11 boards. Simply beastly. And it wasn’t just the numbers. He caught no-look passes that most rookies whiff on. He passed out of the post, which I have yet to see Michael Beasley do effectively. He moved in transition, he bodies up veterans, he slugged it out, got his buckets, and you can tell the team accepts him. He’s Spurs material. I was wrong. Great game.
