Discuss E:60 Video Profile on Ron Artest Here

I first saw this at the LA Times Laker's blog.

Here's the link in case the embedded video doesn't display :

This video is a must see for any diehard Laker fan.

Ron Artest's first choice of team to play at this year: Detroit Pistons. I like how you think, Ron-Ron!

thnx for video

OMG! what about that model he was taking pics with.

Ok back to Artest. There was many funny parts but my favorite is when he talks about running plays and they all end with “pass it to Kobe” and then he said he even repeats that in his dreams…hilarious!

Damn, I always confuse you (male) and Peanut Butter Spread (female)

When I read your comment……………………My first thought was “I dig chicks that dig chicks”. Of course you are a guy so the whole thing didn’t work. I gotta pay more attention to who is commenting.

BTW Peanut Butter Spread…………no offense with the word “chicks”, that’s just how I first heard that saying… :-\

Technical difficulties

Why does the text box keep automatically adding

and

tags to the video code so that it won’t display properly?

Try this again ...

Why does the text box keep automatically adding p and slash p tags to the video code so that it won’t display properly?

Of course this sounds like Bullshit now, but am I the only one that NEVER really had a problem with Ron Artest?

Yeah I know he has done some stupid stuff, but I always thought of him more as a mis-guided good guy than a bad guy.

I'm on the same page

Ron has never had drug issues, gun issues, or off-the-court violence issues from what I can remember. Those are the kind of things that really tarnish a player in my eyes. On court heat of the moment stuff happens to everyone…as an athlete and someone who plays sports I can understand that.

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist.

not saying I condone what Ron was doing

but for example, Steven Jackson firing guns in a night club looks worse to me than jawing or tough-guying on the court.

I think there was an incident with his wife in Sacramento........

Not sure but I seem to remember something. Obviously not a big deal if no one remembers it I guess. I don’t condone it either, but I see a difference between guys like Chad Ochocinco that just want to goof off, have a good time, and bend/break a few rules and guys like Pacman Jones that seem to be genuine assholes. Artest seems to have an almost Pacmanian reputation (Pacmanian, huh, may have to trademark that one) which seems unwarranted.

I think that fans are surprisingly forgiving

pslakerfan I think that most Laker fans feel the way that you do. The problem with fans is that if a player’s actions cost the team wins or even worst a title then that is what bothers them. Fans just want to see you do your job on the court. Besides, any little bit of drama that happens off the court will cause an over reaction. Especially in LA.

Anyone who points out Artest and his past almost sounds like they are hoping that Artest implodes. The negativity for Artest reminds me of the hatred for Kobe. You hate him but would love him if he was on your favorite team.

My repect for Artest is growing.

Everyone can get overly emotional. Sure, acting on model behavior is the best senerio, but sometimes, people really just have a hard time controlling their urges. Some people just can’t help it. I mean, everyone has done something wrong at one point in his/her life, though some to a more severe degree than others. Still, I find it respectible if one can actually acknowledges one’s faults and try to correct that behavior (unlike certain others whose’s names I won’t mention).

I think Ron Artest is genuinely trying to change for the better. I never really cared for Artest (neither liked nor hated), but I’m begining to like him more and more. Not just b/c he’s a Laker, but he’s putting in that effort to try to correct his faults. Though, I do hope he’s not getting overly distracted…
