There are basic Fundamentals that are needed to move forward in this game. Always keep your guard up at all times to avoid being caught in a trap. Overcome the fouls that will be commited against you REBOUND AND PRESS ON. ADJUST to the LimeLight: ALL-STAR PLAYERS ARE ALWAYS THE CENTER OF ATTENTION. Know what your role is and play your position. Tough call.

My sense is they overpaid by about 15-20% given the direction of the market.

The calculated risk is that Mark Cuban wouldn’t make a max offer to bring LMA back to Dallas, where he is from.

Meh. I know Kobe deserves more free throws, but the refs are human. They miss some calls, make some bad calls, make some good calls, etc. Kobe’s got 12 FT’s, yes it should be more but what can you do?

by intuitive on Oct 27, 2009 10:23 PM PDT up reply actions

It's not that you can do something

It’s that the refs humanity errs entirely on the side of giving the superstar the benefit of EVERY doubt, and then throwing in the benefit even when there is no doubt, when you’re talking about Wade or (especially) LeBron.

I missed practically all the second half

How did it go? Bynum’s stat line implies he was a beast, and that Kobe was in the game so much either means that 1) he was trying to match LeBron’s stat line or 2) the bench was horrible.

And before people think this was entirely unsatisfying, remember that 1) we’re still getting adjusted to Artest 2) we had no Pau 3) the Clippers are a borderline playoff team with all that talent and 4) we had no Pau.

To secure ourselves against defeat lies in our own hands, but the opportunity of defeating the enemy is provided by the enemy himself.

by Ben R on Oct 27, 2009 10:36 PM PDT reply actions

Bynum was a beast without even seeming like a beast. Seriously. When he actually explodes, some day, he’ll have the potential for 40/20.

The 3rd quarter was a huge disappointment, and it wasn’t really the bench. It was more just not really taking the game seriously, coasting, etc. Lost of sloppy play. Looked like volleyball, at times.

But yeah, in the end, I personally thought it was a good night.

Sounds good

At least from the first half, Bynum’s footwork was what impressed me the most. Compare him to say Howard and there’s absolutely no comparison between their skill level on the offensive end. Bynum simply needs to get his lift back, but even without that, he’s an All-Star caliber player.
