About the LA Time Lakersblog link...

…if Ron Artest backs those words up, I’ll be the happiest basketball fan ever. Complacency is a huge issue with this team. If Kobe’s not getting at it, the rest of the team sure as hell won’t be. A guy like Ron is going to be contagious. He’ll inspire Kobe and in turn the rest of the team to really go balls to the wall. This mentality is another thing he can bring the team that Ariza couldn’t.

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist.

About Stephen Jackon - Kobe Part Deux

I loved this quote from Corey Maggette:

“Jack (Stephen Jackson) is never going to back down to anybody, whether it’s Kobe Bryant or Michael Jordan.”

Same sentence.

Yup, saw that

I liked that the guy, who I have never heard of, told the story so effectively and honestly (a lot of the details rung true) as well as his graceful reaction to MJ’s boorishness.

What's the bet that the Nuggets sign Stephen Jackson?

Lakers 2009 Road to Redemption: TREVOR, DEREK, LAMAR, PAU & KOBE.
Play the game of which Lakers reminds you of: TA - TI, Shannon Brown - Chris Brown, Pau Gasol - Jesus, Machine - Luis Scola/Russell Brand, PJ with mustache and beard - Colonel Sanders.

The Warriors. Again. Ugh!

It wouldn’t bother me if they had some serviceable bigs, or if we hadn’t already played them twice and if we hadn’t just played the Kings & Bobcats. At least Ron can have more time to learn.

But I don’t see it helps Drew develop much to play a teams without much of a center. Playing against the Clippers bigs was good practice. And at least we play Denver a couple of times.

Welcome to the new NBA where teams are trying to save money by not traveling too far.

About Gaffney

I have been yaping away about this kid since he got envited to the Vegas camp and I know…I know.. he hasn’t been signed but as I predicted he defenitely will. Just my hunch. Although on my original Fan Post and my posting of his YouTube Highlights I got dumped on for saying this I will continue to believe he will make the team.

13 man roster

Bryant
Fisher
Artest
Gasol
Bynum
Odom
Farmar
Vujacic
Brown
Powell
Mbenga
Morrison
Walton

I really don’t see any room for Gaffney.

That's about right.

I doubt they start with 14. They can assign Gaffney to the Defenders and bring him up if needed.

Justin N,

You are 100% right. I guess I am hoping more than anything else. Defensively Gaffney is better than 50% of the current roster that is signed. Hell, if Sun Yue got a shot I hope this kid gets one to.

or even more obvious

If Kobe Karl got a shot why wouldnt’ this kid. But I have to be realistic. My gut tells me he will be a Laker for at least one season.

huh?

Wrong time, wrong place for gaffney? is that what you meant?

yeah.

If he’s a Laker, then he’s a garbage time player. What matters most there is contracts or insurance (like Mbenga). That’s why Morrison gets the nod over him

We weren't dumping on you.

Just pointing out the fact that it’s highly unlikely that the Lakers do put him on the roster, or that he would get the chance to play anything but extreme garbage time if they went 14 deep.

Justin N. laid the roster out nicely out in his reply.

yeah I know...

I have a weird sense of humor. I should of typed in “lol” or something. Believe me I don’t expect for people to think he will make it. I am in the minority in this… I guess it is because I like the story of underdogs like S. Brown.

So I finally met one of his fans..great! well actually I met you before

I know that you are also a regular here. He said that after the Summer camp the coaches told him that he HAD to work on his shooting and he said that he had never shot more in his life. Not even during his 4 years at Umass!

Referees Union and NBA could be coming to resolution

I hope this is true because I really do think the NBA needs the veteran refs back on the court.

Game Thread #66: Los Angeles Lakers at Golden State Warriors - Kobe or MJ? Depends on your age
Should be a good one tonight!
In light of the team's final trip up north for the season. I thought we go down memory lane to look back at a classic game against the Warriors in Oakland. The day was April 20, 1999, yes the day of Columbine Massacre. Also, has anyone noticed that we have had a lot of classic games against the Warriors even though we have always assembled better teams than they did.?
Chinese Basketball League
Heres a new mix I made.

Kobe hasnt always been known as a clutch player. In game 5 of the 1997 Eastern Conference Semifinals, he missed a shot to win the game in the 4th quarter and 2 three-pointers to tie the game in the last minute of overtime, all of the shots being airballs. With that the Utah Jazz ended the playoffs for the Lakers in the 2nd round. Shaquille O'Neal commented years later that "Kobe was the only guy who had the guts at the time to take shots like that."

Ever since that horrible experience in his rookie year, Kobe has worked harder and has learned how to make those shots with the game on the line. This vid features some lines from Carmelo Anthony's Become Legendary commercial as well as some of Kobe's recent gamewinners.

Enjoy!
Kobe Game Winner vs Raptors - Whoa, I watched this and then I read the comments on Youtube claiming Kobe travelled, which I had not heard of. Then, after watching a few times, I have to say, I agree, Kobe changes his pivot foot before putting the ball down on the floor. I also think there's no way a ref catches that in real time, and even if they do, they can't be sure enough to call it then, either.
