Previews: Atlantic & Southwest Divisions
With the 2009-10 season quickly approaching, SS&R is joining a whole host of blogs, led by SB Nation's own CelticsBlog, in previewing the upcoming season. Now, I know what you're thinking — CelticsBlog?? But it's okay. Our Lakers are the reigning champs, so we're at the top of this pyramid, looking down. Besides, they may be the enemy, but we can still show good sportsmanship. Right, LeBron?
Anyhow, the Pacific Division is scheduled for a bit later in the month of October, so our contribution to this glorious project will be coming soon enough. In the meantime, I know you're not busy, so click on through for links to previews for the teams of the Atlantic and Southwest divisions. Should be interesting reading, and a good way to get to know our many potential rivals a bit better.

Here are your Atlantic division previews. Of course, pay special attention to the Celtics, as they're the most likely candidates from this group to challenge the Lakers for the championship, should our team return to the Finals. New Jersey Nets New York Knicks Philadelphia 76ers Toronto Raptors Boston Celtics |
Here are your Southwest division previews. Pay special attention to the Spurs, as they're most likely to be the Lakers' toughest competition in the battle to represent the West. San Antonio Spurs Dallas Mavericks Houston Rockets Memphis Grizzlies New Orleans Hornets |
Stay tuned for more. Other divisions coming soon, and soon thereafter, we (and a few other Lakers blogs) will make our own contribution this grand group attempt to peer into the immediate future of the National Basketball Association.

Welcome back, Josh!!!
I think even though the Celtics (if healthy) will probably give the Lakers the biggest challenge should they meet in the Finals; HOWEVER, I don’t think the Celtics will make it pass the Magic and the Cavaliers definitely won’t make it pass either the Celtics or the Magic. The Magic are crazy deep for a team, it’s going to be interesting to see how the Lakers will play against them.
That saying, the Spurs probably will be the biggest challenge in the West for the Lakers, followed by the Blazers. I really don’t think the Nuggets, Mavericks, or Hornets will present much of a challenge (although out of those three the Mavs worry me a little more).

I'm in Manchester now!!!
France was awesome. I only spent two days there but I saw Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Musee d’Orsay, Louvre, Arc de Triomphe, Place de la Concorde, and Sacre Coeur (basically everything I wanted to see).
I was in London for three days. Saw Big Ben, Parliament, London Eye, Tower of London, all the bridges, National Gallery, Tate Modern, Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, Westminster Abbey, Hampton Court Palace, Kensington Palace, Hyde Park, St. James Park, etc. Loads of fun.
And now I’m stationed in Manchester hanging with my cousin. We just visited Liverpool which was pretty fun. We’ll be heading to the Lake District this Sunday yay!

I read a couple of the Celtics previews and a couple of Spurs previews. As usual the Celtics are confident and already discussing if this is the greatest team of all time and how they’ll break the Bulls regular season win record. (But of course they’re not arrogant.)
The Spurs fans seem confident and excited. Like the season better start before they’ll pee their pants or something.
After reading through all that I do feel like I could use another shower though.
I did
but I mixed it in with the possibility of not winning the championship. That can’t be considered arrogant right?
